He mouths off that USM is going to beat SC and then he says that the defense would be the best part of his team. He is a good recruiter, but he can't coach for crap. What a fricking joke he is.

Never understood that move...but any criticism of it has always been shouted down by USM fans. So, I figured they knew something I didn't.

Yep, have to agree. Bower was the right coach for USM.

Heck, even as a Memphis fan I'm still pissed about Bower.

The man bled black and gold and made Southern Miss nationally relevant. I promise you his Golden Eagles wouldn't be laying down for some mediocre, half-assed SEC team tonight. They'd probably be celebrating a victory.

Jeff Bower was a great coach and should still be there. We probably would not have beaten USM last year if Bower was coaching them instead of Fedora. Lots of respect for that man.

USM has talent they just do not look like they are coached very well especially on defense. The DB's never look back and play the ball.....They are just staring at the receiver and not even trying to make a play on the ball. It seems they just want to blow people up on every tackle and do not wrap up. They just lower their head and throw a shoulder and end up missing the tackle.

sounds like usm hired some of memphis' old defensive coaches.

I'll be surprised if we see many USM fans defending Fedora tonight.

I haven't seen good form tackling since the 70's. Nobody hits and wraps anymore it seems, college or NFL:soapbox:

What the heck is going on with Deandre Brown. seems like he is still in Fedora's doghouse. He's been touted as one of the best recievers in the country yet he doesn't hardly play.

Oh yea they will. Some fans refuse to admit firing Bower was a mistake. They will defend Fedora at all costs. I have accepted the firing of Bower. What I haven't accepted is that Fedora is more than an average coach that can recruit good, but can't coach a lick.

In the past, the Eagles might not have had the most talent on the field, but they consistently hit harder than the other team. That's not happening tonight. Sad to watch this from a USM team.

I am hoping Jeff Bower will be UAB's next Coach

Wonder if the AD admitted he made a mistake, would Bower come back?
