Congratulations to the ECU students and all Pirate Fans for establishing a game atmosphere in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium that is held in high regard by all visiting fans and teams who play here. Through-out the 2009 season compliments were received about the exciting atmosphere and welcoming environment to visiting fans and your fellow Pirates and their families.

With 7,000 additional fans in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium for games this fall, it is more important than ever for every Pirate to be a good host to all who visit as we continue to establish a national standard for the display of good sportsmanship.

Each game is an opportunity to show the state, and often the nation, what makes an East Carolina football game day so special, both on and off the field.

As you prepare to attend each home game we encourage all fans to remember:
• Scanners will be used at all gates. Please have your tickets ready to be scanned.
• Stadium gates open two (2) hours before kick-off.
• Enter the stadium gates early. Even with the new gates added to the stadium, there are simply not enough gates at the stadium to admit 50,000 people quickly and the team needs you in your seats at least 30 minutes before kick-off.
• Any bag (purses, back packs, diaper bags, etc.) carried into the stadium by fans cannot exceed a size specification of 10" X 10" X 10."
• As a reminder, fans are not permitted on to the field after the game. Stay in the stands and join the team in singing the ECU fight song after every game. This gives all East Carolina fans an opportunity to celebrate together.

Opponents - ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! Pirate Nation - cheer so loudly for our Pirates that the noise is intimidating. Show the nation the classiest fans in college football by not booing our opponents or being distracted in any way from cheering for OUR team! At the end of the entrance video, join the band and cheerleaders by loudly confirming that......THIS IS OUR HOUSE! THIS IS OUR STATE, THIS IS OUR NATION - THE PIRATE NATION!"
