If I heard the Twins color guy correctly, he believes the pitch that Konerko hit out of the park was served up on a platter, to make up for the pitch that hit him.

That's hard to believe. The pitcher probably didn't want to hit him in the face, but you don't give him a meatball because you feel bad or like the guy.

He's shown the best eye and understanding of his stirke zone of any player I've seen on the Sox since Frank Thomas. The glaring downside is that he didn't have an extra base hit until last night's homer. Basically from a power standpoint he's had a bad case of looking like a 38 year old.

Ideally he would have been what he's always been, but he's ended up being the offensive equivalent of the perfect 2 hitter (good opposite field singles hitter with a high OBP

Manny made $4 million for hitting like Ryan Theriot for a little more than a month.

Still have 2 weeks left maybe Manny can redeem himself. If not, not many will want to part with the $ he wants for a contract.

I have tix for the Oct 1st game. Tried to guess when the Twinkies would clinch, and it looks like I guessed wrong by a week.

Manny had 69 ABs (+ 14 BB) with the Sox. Which RBI was the most memorable?

That's true. Good call.

I should have set it up as an online pole.

I was at last Thursday's exhibition game with Boston. Boston benched their regular starters (no Ortiz, no Youkilis, no Pedroia, no Drew) and they played like it.

I caught a foul ball from Scutaro, so that was my highlite.
