I'm in GR for the weekend
My dumb*** (don't ban me, Moe) missed my flight out of BWI at 3:45, so I arrived at GRR at 11:30. I'm busy slamming Bell's Ambers at my parents in preparation for a wedding in Byron Center and a reception in Dorr tomorrow (ack). I plan on being incapacitated by 7 and macking farm hos by 7:30. I might go to Little Mexico on Sunday if I wake up before 2pm and I have to catch my flight home at 6 pm.

If any of you natives have any suggestions on cool things to do while I'm here other than excessive alcohol intake, I'm game. I'm encroaching on b5 territory here, although I won't be cutting anyone's grass, other than maybe some broad's. I'm still drowning my sorrows over Strasburg's TJ surgery. The Nats just can't catch a f'n break! F!

I'll be listening to a lot of SOS Band this weekend. Rack those dudes.

If you don't mind increasing beer intake, Hopcat and Founders downtown are awesome stops.

If whiskey's your game, Stella's Lounge looks like the place to be. I haven't been yet, but can a punk rock whiskey lounge really be bad?

So you're in town and you have a chance to spend some time with your parents, and all you can think about is where to get trashed?

Always the moral high ground.

I don't rant when I'm drunk! Nice try though.

Yet to see a post of yours that wasn't a rant in some way, shape, or form.

Or somebody so proud to be an alcoholic, like that's a good thing.

Yeah, it's kind of a joke. I'm from GR (my parents still live in Plainfield Twp) so I'm more than familiar with the area. Been to Hopcat and Founders, two epic stops and I've been to Stella's too. In fact I went there with my Dad last time I was in town. It's pretty sweet. Lots of sweet draft beers and they also sell 22ozers of Pabst, Mickey's and assorted sh1t beers for those who imbibe in those. Plus, going over all the sweet concert stubs in the bar is a trip in itself. Nirvana at Club Eastbrook? If only I was born about 10 years earlier.

P.S. the jukebox at Stella's is incredible.

Of course not. I know exactly where to get trashed: my parents' house!

And, as much as I love my parents, the four-day rule still applies. After four days at my parents', all I can think to myself is getting the hell out of here. I get an automatic free seven days off between Christmas and New Year's and by the time the end of the week rolls around, it is more than time to get my ass back to the mid-Atlantic.

Shouldn't you be with all your knuckle-dragging, Chicken Little-screaming mongoloid friends in DC at the Beck/Palin rally?

Are you sure it's not your parents who have a 4 day rule......................

All they can think about is you leaving and stop sponging off them.

But seriously, can I hear more about your travels through Grand Rapids, it's fascinating.03-zzz

Don't judge others by your own parents and multiple sets of in-laws.
