RE: Just wait -
Bradley sounds really good but it doesn't seem he's gotten any respect on the recruiting sites. Dannyb, on an earlier thread you had mentioned that the top players from Memphis go to Memphis or Tenn. etc. but that Kent would do well to try to snag some of the second teir Memphis kids. Since it seems like you know Bradley's game well would you say he is one of the second teir guys or did Kent really recruit out of their league here. Based on the other schools looking at him it sounds like the latter but with the exception of Arkansas I have no idea how serious the other schools were. Also do you think adding Bradley will dramatically help Kent's case with other Memphis kids?

RE: Just wait -
Here is what I can say. Bradley was really coveted by Arkansas (I know they called him as recently as Monday) and the other schools were serious as well. He most definitely was one of the best players in the city and KSU was really fortunate to get him. In a nutshell, this came down to Coach Mincy's relationship with two guys. Cheyenne Gibson, who played at Memphis State (before we became the U of M) was Bradley's high school coach and he and Jordan go back a long way and Cowboy Robinson who was the AAU coach for both Mincy and Bradley.
To answer the second part of your question, one of Bradley's AAU teammates was Cam Golden (PG, 2011) who KSU has an offer out to and is also being heavily recruited by some of the same schools. I cannot say we are in a good position to get him, but I can say he has our complete attention.
Memphis is a HOTBED of talent, and the next few years there are a lot of kids with BCS D1 talent coming through. If Jordan can continue to work the city and his relationships, we could be looking at several Memphians in Blue and Gold.

Thanks a lot for the insight. Golden was who I had in mind when I asked that so it's good to know they're working on him.

I am told that process is to be completed today or tomorrow. The rivals guy is and has always been a hater, so don't buy into his crap. I can assure you my sources know WAY more on this topic than he does. I think he is just sour that I beat him to this news by 3-4 days.
Where did you beat anybody to anything by 3-4 days? All you did was start a thread to say I have a secret and wouldn't say who/what/where/when/how so everybody speculated and filled in the blanks until the official releases were made. And even if somebody beat somebody to the story by a few days, who cares? Three to four days later it doesn't matter, we scored a solid prospect but still has a long way to go to wear our uniform abd/or contribute. Best of luck to this youngster getting his things in order to become a productive student-athlete.

Well PH, the point I made in starting the thread was to get people excited about the news that was forthcoming. I was not at liberty to say what was going on at that time. I would say 1,300+ views later people were excited and pumped up about it. That was the point to this thread. JB has a year of going to classes. No different than any Senior in high school. He will do fine.

Yeah, but I clicked on this thread like 80 times. A little obsessive-compulsive. And things are slow. And I still don't know if we're talking about a person, place or thing yet.

Oh, and for the other obsessive-complusives that clicked on this thread because there was something new only to find out it's just me making a smart aleck comment. I'm sorry.
Especially if you clicked on this a second time between my two comments (i.e., in the last five minutes).

His HS GPA qualified, but it's my understanding his test scores were just a little to low. MaxPreps shows he averaged, 21 points and 12 boards per game. First team All-City in Memphis is pretty stout.

Bradley had 38 and 15 against White Station HS, and they are nationally ranked every year.

Going to see Jarekious play the Tigers tomorrow. He is currently averaging 20ppg on 55% shooting. Throw in a respectable 8 reb per game for SEMO (who is 7-3) and he is one I would say we let get away!

Yeah he got away, but a kid that needed to come in and get things in order and instead got arrested for a felony and/or a crime against a women should get away. Especially considering at that time the squad was having frequent run-ins with the authorities.

That's the problem. And the only reason we didn't stand behind him. Had we not been going through legal woes with other players, we would have backed him and he would likely still be in Kent. Although different in nature this reminds me a lot of the arrest and noise violation by Chris Singletary. The accusations turned out to be pretty damn bogus.

I thought right from the start that they made an example of him. With that said, it might have worked as we haven't had much legal noise since. Regardless, I was sad to see him go but happy to see he's doing well.

RE: Just wait -
Bradley had a nice game in a losing effort. Scored 19 and had 6 rebounds with 4 assts. Had a few turnovers but against Memphis' pressure, that was no surprise. The thing I liked most about his game is he wasn't selfish at all. Just got his within the flow of the game. Would have been a nice player for us. Oh well. Happy with win #9 today. Onward we march.

When we signed Bradley I thought that he came to us a s the best rated player in our history. That was a personal evaluation, not necessarily one from the rating services. Hated to see us lose him.
