2011 FB Verbals Thread
We have our first, the TE, Branden Watson from IL.

I'm requesting this be made an 'important' thread. We can try to keep it updated with VERBALS ONLY, no rumors or speculation.

Though initially announced with the 2010 class. Garrett Parker will be coming in for 2011.
So I guess that makes him a 2011 commit.

As I understand it Marlon Pollard transferred from UCLA to EMU so he'll be eligible next season (unless there is something I don't know).

Hence I'd place him in the same category as Garrett Parker and others.

I'd assume that Pollard has signed his scholarship papers and is on scholarship while sitting out his transfer year.

He was a 4 star recruit in '09. Top 150 Nationally by Rivals.com

http://rivals.yahoo.com/ucla/football/re...lard-60294

I think we'll see a strong '11 recruiting class including sitouts, transfers, etc.

Feel free, guys, to add others who were due now but won't be coming until next year.

I believe there is a Cali JUCO DB.

Maybe a few others.

Shelby was to be a grayshirt but is, I presume, a scholarship player now.

Any more transfer sitouts beside Pollard?

RE: 2011 FB Verbals Thread
If I count correctly I have:

1). Watson, TE Illinois,

2). Parker, OL Illinois,

3). Pollard, DB, UCLA (transfer sitout).

4). X, DB, Cali JUCO (completing his associate's degree this fall).

ADDING: 5) Marcus Penn (see below)

ADDING (9/16) Mike Marrow (Alabama)

We're starting to fill a number of scholies but this seems like a GOOD thing.

There will competition for scholarships at certain positions, which encourages recruits to verbal early.

5) Marcus Penn
- I believe he suffered a knee injury and, like Parker, will come in next year.

Okay, KPJ:

"The 2010 EMU Football roster has players who transferred from UCLA, Wisconsin, Louisville and FSU to be a part of building a dynasty in Ypsi "

I know the UCLA and L'ville transfers.

Wisky and FSU????

EDIT: Grimes via JUCO is the WI player.

the FSU player is Sean Graham.

Yes, I was referring to the players who are listed on the 2010 roster who had experience at those schools.
Yes, Grimes did play JUCO ball between Wisconsin and EMU, but he has experience at Wisconsin so I listed it. Maybe not the best way to have done it...

Is Sean Graham, like Pollard, a transfer sitout for '10?

If so, we can add him to the list above.

Agree. Add Marrow and delete Graham.

(I'll do it up at the top).

Surprisingly we have a NICE list of players even though only one is a high school verbal.

It's nice to have transfer sitouts from UCLA and Alabama (does it get any better then that 04-bow)

A nice hoops player too?

There is something nice about 250 lbs guys who can play TE and hoops. Really nice athletes.

Antonio Gates for one.

Jason Jones did FB and hoops.

My guess is that this kid will reshirt and be converted to an OL or DL.

Add 25 lbs and he'd be a nice DE.

I'll have to ask Edgytim (edgytim.com) what the kid prefers - O or D.

RE: 2011 FB Verbals Thread
I just did a Scout.com search for kids EMU is involved. Got it sorted by position.

Interesting ONLY 6 kids in OL, and one is a 3 star recruit (OG) with big time suitors.

So it is really 3 OT, 1 OG, 1 C.

Apparently EMU might spend say only 2 or 3 scholarships on the OL.

On the other hand, 5 or 6 TEs or QBs (each position) are being targeted.

Brandon Watson WILL play TE, and I wouldn't be so sure they don't have three or four commits that aren't reported. One of which is a TE from West part of Michigan.
