Aaron Anderson--Role? Our Starting 5?
An observation from the three games the Owls have played so far I've had is if Anderson can continue to contribute on the defensive side of the ball like he has so far, I could see him picking up some major minutes. I understand that he's doing it against what is more than likely inferior teams; However, one thing I like so far about him that I've read about is his hustle. If he works hard (like it seems he already is) I really think he could be a key play for us this year.
This is a quote from him after the Owls win against LTD Toronto in which he pulled down 12 rebounds:
“It’s been really exciting to be out there with my new teammates, and I know that if I keep my focus on defense and rebounding I’ll be able to stay out on the floor, and that’s what I’ve been doing.”
It sounds like he's really fitting in and is enjoying his early time at KSU. If he keeps his head down and works, like he has been, I think we are going to really like him as a player.
What do you guys think? Is he a bench player as a sophomore with Heramb and Green ahead of him or what might you think his role will be?
If the season started today, I don't know what our starting five would be. 1-3 is solid, no brainer. Dixon-1, Woods-2, Cummings-3. However, my lineups get shady when I debate the 4 and 5 in my head. I assume, at least at the beginning of the season, it will be Green-4, and Heramb-5 but I'm not sure.
I know it's not even September yet, but with all of this Canada coverage I've got the itch for KSU basketball. It's really early, but these boards are made for armchair coaches like ourselves penciling in lineups for 3 months down the road haha. So Novemeber 15, Georgia Tech comes to the Convocation Center--What is our absolute best lineup that we can put out there (as best as you can figure considering its August 10)?

I think Anderson is going to play a big role on this year's team...and I wouldn't be surprised to see him start the year with a big role. We need defense and rebounding in the post. Heramb was never a great rebounder, so Anderson fills that role nicely. Heramb is an all around talent that can do a lot of things, but I think Anderson is definitely going to work his way into the rotation if he can pull down double digit boards and play good defense. On the national championship team we started Reggie McCoy who couldn't score a lick, but he was a man child on the boards at 6'6". I think the starting lineup isnt as important as who is in the rotation, and I think there is a big opening for a big man in our rotation.

His FT's are certainly a concern but hopefully fixable.
The safe bet of our starting 5 as of August 10th is Dixon, Woods, Cummings, Green, Heramb.. then McConnell, Anderson, and maybe Marine as our biggest contributors off the bench.

I also heard that Ohsemen was a steal, and is a legit 6'9" (not 6'6" as some reported). I guess we won't know until we see him on the court, but I think we are going to end up very glad that we have Andrew. I am not sure how ready he is going to be immediately, but I think he is the sleeper of this class.
