RE: BC trying to steal UCONN recruit
The fact that BC's coaches have to lie to get recruits is rather telling... 03-lmfao

Until a letter of intent is signed, the player can and will continue to be recruited.

Yeah, I'd say your upcoming recruiting class is in trouble if no one is trying to steal them. Usually means they aren't any good.

That's pretty pathetic but, on the other hand, JFlight is 100% correct. If they're trying to steal your recruits that means your recruiting class is talented. A lot of Big Ten and ACC schools have tried to steal recruits from UC, that's one of the signs we have arrived. UConn has very good talent and Top 25 teams, I would consider this kind of garbage an honor in a twisted sort of way.

I guarantee you every school out there is trying to grab someones commits. It is not unethical, the kid has no legal tie to U conn until he signs the paper, and no other school has any reason to pay attention to his verbal. Every school loses and or gains verbals thru the year, It's like going steady for a while, it means nothing.

RE: BC trying to steal UCONN recruit
IMO, if a coach has to lie to a kid to enduce him to come to his school, he's a 2nd rater, and isn't the kind of coach a parent would want his child to associate with. Frankly, if it's proven that disinformation has been used in a recruiting attempt, the recruiter who puts forth those lies should be banned from any contact with impressionable youths...

You don't want your children to believe the way to get ahead is to lie and cheat. Do you? Well, some do, obviously. But not me, or anyone else with a modicum of self respect...

We host LOTs of recurits who have verballed to another school. In basketball it is considered taboo to go after a recurit who has verballed to another school. In football, it is open game until the LOI is signed.

Lies at a Catholic school like BC, can't be!
BC and its AD have been very straightfoward with their plans and commitments to their league and coaches. Just ask the BE in 2005 and their last FB and BB coaches. :muttering: 03-nutkick
