Well wherever he ends up he will have until 2011 to get in shape. as I stated in previous posts USF will have many other options at RB.
So if you tel him sure come BUT here is what you must do to have aschoolie.
#1 Get in shape
#2 keep grades
#3 keep out of trouble
#4 rehab your injury.
If you dont do that ,you are gone. In my book thats a good deal because he has a year to prove he wants and belongs on the field

Just sounds like too much of a risk and too much uncertainty, despite him being the #1 RB in the country out of HS.

The problem is that he eats up a scholarship while sitting out to do that. I believe UC told him they would take him if he paid his own way for the year he sat out and proved that he deserved a scholarship. UC has done that with a few transfers who came in with issues. Some worked out, like Alex Daniels, some didn't, like Mister Simpson. Either way it doesn't cost the program anything. This kid wasn't willing to do that.

Not sure what deal he would be getting from USF. We will probably have a couple of guys that are seniors that wont be around come the start of season.Transfering due to playing tmes, so i guess he could get one of those and if he doesnt work out, he is sent packing at the end of year.

Ford was inconsistent, but he had some big games, ran for over 200 yds in the bowl. He would have had a big senior year. He wasn't that bad.

True enough, he was just never the All-American shoo-in he was supposed to be. Anyway, did y'all have to hire Scott's mother like Colorado did?

LOL. You are an example of what a joy it would be to have your school in our conference. 03-banghead

Actually, you're reading a tone that wasn't there. I was asking a question. Colorado had to hire his momma. It's a negative against him, not against the school. The kid is a cancer, and I don't know why Skip wants him in the first place.

Well IF, Skip wants him, Ill trust his football knowledge and dealing with kids over someone in the internet.
I dont see the fascination that some of you UCF fans have on this event. If he is a bust it doesnt affect you and if he works out it doesnt affect you.
Now I can see posting once on it and saying what you believe, but I dont get the continous posting and trying to paint in a bad light.
As I said USF will probably have 2-4 scholarships open this year due to upperclassmen leaving because they wont break into the line up. So Skip has the luxury to take in 2-4 transfers and let them prove that they DESERVE to be there. If they do then thats great, if they dont theyll be gone.
Scott -RB- Colorado
Aycock-RB- Auburn
Bowens-WR- NCST
Boyd-CB- Notre Dame
are all being looked at by Skip and could end up at USF. Bowens would be able to play in 2010, the others would probably have to sit out a year.

If Skip wants him, he sees some potential good coming out of this. But we must all remember the key word in the previous sentence is POTENTIAL. He may or may not reach the potential Skip sees. That's up to him. If he's a momma's boy, like it appears, I'd say the odds are stacked against him...

We'll find out soon enough, I figure...

Darrell Scott to USF, #1 RB recruit in nation coming out of HS:

http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bulls/cont...-was-great

RB Scott: USF visit was 'great'
Former Colorado running back Darrell Scott has made his first confirmation since a Facebook posting last month saying he would be transferring to USF.

Scott said via text message Thursday that a campus visit to USF last week and went and alluded to coach Skip Holtz's plans to announce his late additions when players report Aug. 4.

"Had a great trip to Tampa and coach said he will have a media deal on Aug 4th," Scott wrote.

Scott was the No. 1 running back recruit in the nation two years ago coming out of high school, but had limited success in two seasons with the Buffaloes. He would have to sit out the 2010 season and would have two years of eligibility with the Bulls.

For the most part, if you had an extra scholarship to give (as in the 25 per class limit rule) then it i snot a bad option for a year. If it doesn't work out, you send him packing, and nothing lost. What I would be concerned with is that even though he was at one time the top RB recurit, that stuff menas nothing two years into college. When you go far away from home to a third tier BCS program like Colorado (it is sad what has happened to them) as a top flight prospect, and cannot get PT or stay in shape, that is a serious red flag to what may happen in his future.

If he does come, he will sit out 2010 and will have to prove that he can handle being a productive student athlete. If he doesnt then you cut him lose so its not as risky as it my seem.
We will see if he is up to his ranking.

Sometimes the coaching staff needs to accept part of the blame for not developing a kid's potential as well.

I've read a lot about this kid on Colorado sites and its seems like he came in flashed in Fall camp and then suffered a series of nagging injuries which cost him playing time. The coaching staff supposedly treated him with 'kid gloves' and didn't push him and allowed poor work habits to develop. From everything I've read he was a really good character kid in high school.

We'll find out soon enough, but with Holtz's history of developing RBs and getting players to play for him this seems like a low risk - high reward reclamation project.

Then again....sometimes it also just doesn't work out: see Mike Ford. Great kid with a ton of ability....but has made a ton of bad decisions. Poor kid needs to wake up!
