It didn't hurt that their running back was hurt.
We saw what happens when your running back doesn't play against Toledo and Idaho. That and Purdue wasn't very good.

Purdue was beating Ohio State for most of their game if I remember correctly. What was Ohio State ranked at the time? #1?

OSU was ranked 7th at time, I think.

chihuskie.. was their best player healthy that game? And anything can happen in one game. Keeping it close with OSU for most of a game, doesn't mean Purdue is a good team. They had a good day, it happens.

We're going to learn a lot in the opener.
Illinois is a top 100 team this year, NIU is a top 50 team, we should beat them, but being at home is a big big plus for them.
That's so kind of you to give so much props to Illini fans, MD! I didn't realize you valued them so much and considered Memorial Stadium to be such a great home field advantage!

Ive never been to Memorial Stadium so I cannot speak of the home field advantage. I meant more in terms they are lucky to not have to travel to Huskie Stadium!
I do have a question for you Trav. I had seats in Section 105 Row 6 (which I believe is actually the first row maybe considering they close off the bottom few rows from what I've been told). I've sold 7 out of the 10 tickets I bought for my family on stubhub and bought seats in Section 111 Row 40. I know those are not great seats in the Horseshore corner, but can you at least see whats going on up there? Thanks for any help. I was told its very hard to see from the first row down by the field, I hope I made the right decision by selling those.

Did I miss something? Ralph Bolden played in that game.

7, he was clearly not at full strength. It was discussed repeatedly at the time of the game, he played through an injury, but obviously not very well. Purdue was not really any good anyways, so I don't know if it mattered in the end, but I'm sure it helped.

Yeah you'll be able to see. It's not the best seat in the house.. probably worse than ANY seat at Huskie Stadium but I've sat in the Horseshoe 10+ times over the past 3 years and I don't mind it. You won't be blinded but due to your angle, it's difficult to see the difference between a 2 yard run and a 4 yard run. To the average fan, that's no big deal but to people like you and I, I know that can be annoying at times.
Bottom line, not the best seats but you will be able to see. What you will like to hear is that the visiting section is 2 sections over in section 109. Horseshoe fans are pretty tame.. don't expect to catch much heat for wearing an NIU jersey.

Been there before makeover years ago - sat in an endzone bleacher seat.
Losses in Shampain grind on me.
Lord how I long for a different outcome sept 18.
sec 200 something like row 32 i think is my seating.

That loss 6 years ago still annoys me to this day. A game we should have won.
EDIT: whoops, you guys were talking about Illinois. I was talking about ISU.
