Definitely. They don't call the Great Lakes area the "Rust Belt" for nothing.

I was driving out to Oklahoma late last summer and we stayed in Pittsburgh overnight on Day 1 of the trip as we were leaving on a Friday late afternoon. First time I had been to Pittsburgh and I'd like to go back to actually see the city and get to a game at PNC Park and/or finally go to an RU @ Pitt game, but back to my real point. We ended up off the beaten path to get fueled up since the GPS went that way and I believe we were just southwest of Carnegie and even there you could tell this must have been so different just 20 or 25 years ago. It wasn't a bad little town by any means, but in some ways time had forgotten it over the last quarter century.

Definately Brista. Almost all industry in Pittsburgh is about gone. Glassport and Canonsburg was big time Glass producing towns. Washington still has the Ferro plant that produces paint. Towns like McDonald resemble more of a ghetto but really doesn't have a crime rate. You could simply see the towns that they used to be all over Pittsburgh.
