They always fall short as do most university athletic departments.

What should be embarrassing to them is the domination Southern Miss has in the series record against them in football despite not having the budget of ECU. They do more with less. My team does less with more.

Everyone has these type of fans. I personally hope Southern Miss does well. You have a similar problem what ECU has, in that ole miss, and miss state have no intention of allowing Southern Miss to reach its potential both on the field, or in academic programs and reach. Same with ECU vs unc and ncsu. If they had their way, ECU would still be ECTC, a female teachers college, with an enrollment of 1000-2000, instead of the 2nd largest, and fastest growing university in the state of NC.

Both have had to fight this battle and both have had success. Here is hoping for continued success.

I think it's generally a good idea to lump all fans of one team together. Blanket statements keep us warm and cozy.

I bet all Southern Miss fans want to be lumped in the same category as you. Why didn't you just start this on the smack board because its-a-going.

It should be obvious to all that all fans suck except for fans of my favorite teams.

Don't know where you vistited but ECU rivals has actually gotten worse if that is possible. I saw a post where they were pooking fun of S. Miss financial situation. Not cool IMO.

The ECU Rivals site is horrible. That place has the worst fans. They're wholly unreasonable, lack any perspective or understanding, and they're generally just flamers. I tried posting over there once...waste of time when you can't have a conversation without being insulted and just flamed.

I think the UCF Rivals site can easily match ECU in the Douchebag for Douchebag category. Messageboard fans are the lunatic fringe who by and large type things anonymously that they would never say to another fanbase in person. I love the CUSA road trips and for the most part run into nothing but great fans who strangely enough when I ask them never go near a messageboard.

Messageboards are good for keeping up with your teams recruiting and a little inside info but other then that the sophmoric smack that takes place in 99% of fan messageboards makes them almost unbearable.

Yeah right. OTM runs an insane asylum over there and they all feed off him, the biggest nut of all. Virtually every poster over there desires to be Hummell or Scourge. The UCF Rivals site has some douches on the free board, but by and large it's populated with pretty reasonable posters who you can have a conversation with. It's impossible on the ECU Rivals board.

I don't recall ECU fans ever taking over the UCF Rivals board and posting a lot of crap ?? The ECU Rivals premium board has by far the best insider info and OTM for being a little different provides the best coverage of ECU during Football season with the interviews and video work he does. There is plenty of bad blood between the ECU and UCF Rivals board but you have to take some responsibility for it with that stunt that the kids from the UCF Rivals board pulled. Hummel who I have met several times is actually a very cool guy but for whatever reason he just loves to give UCF fans the business. I am guessing a few of the bigger flamers on the UCF side would also be cool to meet in person.

As far as the ECU vs UCF thing it all boils down to the Big East and a constant man part measuring contest. At the end of the day we both got looked at again and both got rejected again so neither fan base has much to thump their chest about. I look forward to my trip to Orlando to see this years game and I am sure like last time I will meet a lot of nice UCF fans.

Even though I am a Tulane fan, I believe, after looking at the history of C-USA, that Southern Miss has 3 outright championships and tied for another. UAB?

Yeah, when I think reasonable; I think Knightlight everytime . How many more times is he going to post a bunch of nonsense about how great of an academic institution UCF is compared to ECU? Let that clown tell it, UCF is second only to Princeton in the academic rankings.

UCF posters post on the ECU Rivals board without being assulted. I read a lot of post from UCF posters and I didn't see any problems.
