Nice article. Still astounding to me that Cameron (6'2, 240lbs) finished 4th in state in the 110m hurdles. Also, the first recruiting article mentioned that our coaching staff wanted to see Aaron play a few games before offering him...definitely didn't hurt his chances by going for 150 yards and 3 TD's in basically one half of their season opener. I think these kids will end up deciding that they would like to stay together, which is good for NIU.

Aaron's statline was: 22 carries, 150 yards, 3 TD's.

He would be the first of our desperately needed RB recruits, as a preferred walk on that would be a plus. Last time we can say we recruited a similar type of player would be one Chad Spann.

Aaron Clinton-Earl ran for 114 yards on 17 carries on Friday night. Somehow they had a guy on their team with two carries for 167 yards and two td's. According to the newspaper, their team has only attempted 5 passes in two games and in their first game neither team completed a single pass. Bizarre.

Just thought I'd post the statistics of McIntosh so far...

Matt McIntosh (F.J. Reitz)
18/35 passing, 255 yards, 2 INT
39 carries, 248 yards, 5 TD

It looks like threw for 3 TD's and ran for another in his game on 9/3, but the box score is missing the F.J. Reitz stats.

If they run a wishbone or Wing-T, which a lot of high schools still do, it's pretty standard.

Two wing-T teams will be done with a high school football game in about 90 minutes because they never take it off the ground if they can help it.

I'm going to assume that McIntosh is the brother of SIU QB Paul McIntosh?

Yup. Here is your weekly McIntosh update: http://www.courierpress.com/news/2010/oc...zmaterdei/

Quote:Senior quarterback Matt McIntosh, who has made an oral commitment to Northern Illinois University, is averaging 8.1 per attempt in gaining 581 yards.

He has rushed for seven scores. McIntosh has completed 56 of 88 passes, a 63.6 percentage, for 908 yards and 14 touchdowns. He has had three intercepted.

McIntosh still rolling, big game this weekend: http://www.courierpress.com/news/2010/oc...-the-bowl/

Quote:McIntosh was 9-for-13 passing for 217 yards and four touchdowns against the Wildcats. He had none intercepted. He also gained 143 yards rushing on 15 carries, including scoring runs of 33 and 23 yards.

"He's elusive enough to get away from pressure and look downfield," said Reitz coach Tony Lewis. "He made four or five huge throws. Obviously that's something that Northern Illinois saw, that he could make plays when the pocket breaks down."

Yes, He sounds like a Harnish/Lynch clone!

Looks like the Clinton-Earls seasons are over. Nice job by the RB brother though.

I always open this thread hoping that someone is posting about a new commit and it's never the case. Blah.

We went through a dead period during the season last year, too. Then, around the bowl announcements, we got a bunch of names in. It doesn't help us, but I think the staff likes it that way.

Quote:McIntosh was also outstanding, despite not starting as Stutsman moved to a quick first down. McIntosh finished 10 of 13 passing for 221 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran one yard for another score.

McIntosh is questionable for their game on Friday though with a foot injury
