Anyone that goes to a Bob Evans for BBQ (heck, or anyone that goes to Bob Evans outside of Breakfast) is insane.

Amen to that. I believe Bob Evans was from Ohio.....nothing southern about that. Also watch out for "southern grits"....if you see southern grits on the menu, the restaurant is owned by yankees, or other non-southern peoples.

Funny you said that. The first time I ate at a Bob Evans it was for breakfast and I thought to myself that it tasted like a bland mid-west version of southern food. Plain. Blah. I wouldn't eat breakfast there again if somebody paid me. Big Ed's is getting close to where I would call it real southern (for breakfast anyway). I haven't eaten there for any other meal, much less bbq.

Calm down. I only mentioned it to poke a little at the Carolina boys, not as any endorsement of Bob Evans. I just thought it was funny, based on some fo the posts in this thread, that's all.

I have only been to Bob Evans twice, at breakfast both times. I can;t complain as I thought it was pretty good, better than Denny's or IHop, but then again I was hung over both days. But Bob Evans sausage has nothing on Purnell's Old Folk's, so....

Bob Evans is useless. Its a breakfast diner thats not open all night. Imo the only excuse for going there would be 3am after leaving a bar/club drunk. Kinda like Ihop, perkins, and Dennys.

Those breakfast places, for me at least, are places that i vaguely remember going to, and can only confirm i was there because i see it on my debit card statement.

Perhaps that explains why the Bob Evans franchise in Greenville NC shut its doors a few years ago due to lack of business...but I digress.

More 'Cue news from Maxim...The Pork Pilgrimage...and I would be remiss if I didn't point out that their first stop, The Skylight Inn (Pete Jones BBQ) of Ayden, (12 miles from ECU campus) is one of my favorite places on earth to eat. At least once a week, and it allows me to keep this rotund physique that women crave and heart surgeons admire. Just sayin.

Road Trip?

I watched a little of this game. The crowd was good the crowd. No one was there. Essentially, only the band. ECU fans like it more than Memphis fans.

Not trying to be a homer here but I've eaten @ Rendezvous in memphis, i've eaten at a couple of dreamlands in alabama. I've also tried some of that NC BBQ w/ the cider, cayenne, and vinegar stuff...they are all good but NONE of those can compare to "Leatha's BBQ" in Hattiesburg, Ms. Ribs/pulled pork so tender, it would bring a king to his knees. The BBQ sauce here is ungodly. The slaw is homemade. Given the opportunity, I strongly encourage anyone to eat there.

Any BBQ named "Leatha's"...has to be damn fine. I'm in!04-cheers
