Does the Big East need to expand for scheduling purposes?
With the changes in the Big 12 and Big Ten, there will be three conferences that will choose to have nine game conference schedules. The Big 12 will play a round robin schedule like the PAC-10 does today, the Big Ten is strongly favoring a nine game conference schedule and the PAC will play continue to play nine conference games. The Big Ten and PAC will accomplish this by playing their divisional games, then playing 4/6 cross division games (this was a compromise with the PAC so that the North would still make trips to LA two of every three years).

So the Big East, who will continue to need five OOC games, will now have less possibilities to fill their schedules. Wouldn't stun me if the ACC and SEC consider this at some point too. So is it necessary to at least get to a schedule with only four OOC games and bring in a 9th football member?

Not looking to find out who is idea or turn this into campaigning for a school, just tossing this out there.
