To the Temple Owl jerk who got personal with me a couple of days ago. Don't do it again or I will try to have you banned from the board if you haven't been already. One thing to keep in mind for the Sun Belt is that South Alabama is already a member, playing football currently, and will be elligible for full Belt play in 2013.

Not sure how that would affect your teams but I think you need to keep them in there.

Probably would be better like this...

Troy
Western Kentucky
Middle Tennessee
South Alabama

Sun Belt West - 6
Louisiana - Lafayette
Louisiana - Monroe
North Texas
Arkansas State
Rice

Althought I dont know where you would put Tech. They REALLY dont want to be in the Sun Belt, and the Sun Belt wouldnt be thrilled having them back, but they might not have a choice.

The thought of 4 Louisianna schools is FRIGHTING considering the economic and budget issues facing that state right now.

Wasn't aware about South Alabama. The Sun Belt should add North Alabama too. There are so many 1-AA programs that should move up that two more conferences could be formed. Villanova, Delaware, UMass, Maine, New Hampshire, Appy State, Richmond, Georgetown, Florida A&M, Grambling, Jackson State and Tennessee State could be an Eastern Conference and Missouri State, Western Illinois, Southern Illinois, Northen Iowa, South Dakota State, North Dakota State, Montana, Cal-Poly, Cal-Davis, Fullerton State, Portland and Eastern Washington could form one west of the Mississippi. These are just for instances. These programs are some of the tops in 1-AA.

Some of this is just laughable fantasy.

There is NO Way the Big East is going to lure Maryland, BC, and VT. That is just too delusional even for this forum.

And, NO WAY IN HELL is the ACC taking both UCF and USF if FSU and Miami are still there. UCF's only hope for the ACC is that either FSU or Miami (or both) bolt somewhere else.

Everybody's got to be somewhere. The other NC schools would never let ECU in. You got anybody better in mind. I'm open to suggestions. I'm from WV so Marshall might be a better choice. Frankly, I think the ACC and Big East will merge. Maybe by next week. I'm just looking at 12 team scenarios today though. ESPN, I would think would love that. Over half of the great BB programs in one conference. The Garden would rock in March.... Thanks for responding. Mostly I dislike message boards but I always liked this one. Is Wilkie the Louisville fan still posting expansion messages. He was driving everyone crazy a couple of years ago so I guess that makes him years ahead of his time. Me, I'm usually twenty minutes late.

I don't claim to know it all. It must be nice to be right all the time. What do you with all that money you make betting on the games. I'm sure your teams always cover the spread. ;-)

No one is claiming you know it all but seriously how did you come up with any of this stuff? Why do you think so many Div 1AA schools should move up when they don't have a desire to do so?

You hit the nail on the head RaliLlama, not to mention, the ACC might want to start competing w/ the SEC in another state besides Florida, and what other state could they do that in? Mississippi. Did you know that Mississippi puts more football players into the NFL (per capita) than ANY other state, I know that was true as of like '09. Conferences are going to be splitting, teams are gonna be coming and going, EVERYBODY'S GOT TO BE SOMEWHERE and the University of Southern Mississippi has a boat-load to offer as far as athletics/academics/tradition etc... I've already created a thread a while back showing what all USM has to offer for an expansion candidate in a nutshell. Good read for inquiring minds, it's amazing how many people on here like to dog schools that they absolutely know nothing about. (linkerooni = What Southern Miss has to offer )

La Tech has been trying to make themselves appealing to C-USA..so if you make sure you keep the Military academies independent, then you could bump La Tech into C-USA in place of Army or Navy.

The one problem I obviously see with USM to an ACC, is they don't fit the profiles.. other than their comp sci and polymer science, they're way too much of an Education school to fit in to an ACC profile (and not enough state-backing politically to adjust to fit in that regard), even though they "could" fit geographically.

I Do think with those three major schools, they could fit into a "current" Big-12 type of university. But that's more than an athletic comparison.
