New Name for Big 12?
If the B12 really stays at 10, they need a new name, notwithstanding the awful precedent set by the Big Ten and Atlantic 10. Will it be the "Southwest Conference"?

The SWC was a great conference at one time...might as well bring the name back.

RE: New Name for Big 12?
If they go back to 12 they keep the name. If they stay at 10, maybe the Big Plains conference? Although I could also see them not wanting one that regionally defines them (not that, that ever hurt the SEC, but I could still see it). I think they'll keep Big in the name though.

Too bad there is already a Great Plains Athletic Conference - that would be perfect.

I'd imagine they'll keep the name Big 12.

The "Not the Big East" conference has a certain ring.

Wow...

You've got to be kidding. What about TT and Baylor? They get to keep theirs because they are in Texas?

The only problem is that they will have to pay exit fees.

RE: New Name for Big 12?
No one except Baylor and Mizzou are happy about this, not even Texas. Yes, they made out better than anyone else, but their fans are pizzed beyond belief right now because they know a weak conference like this will come back to bite them in the ass at BCS time.

A&M is livid that Texas was willing to destroy everyones futures and even take a lessser offer for themselves just to keep them out of the SEC.

OU is in that shameful remorse you get when you realize that you prostituted yourself but got nothing in return and will spend the next 3 weeks scrubbing themselves raw in the shower.

Tech is pissed that this whole event exposed how powerless they are in the state and instead of the PAC 16, they get dragged back home by Texas for less money than what Texas, OU and A&M are getting.

OSU is same as Tech but substitute Texas for Oklahoma.

In a nutshell everyone is unhappy about the Little 10

Old joke - Why does it cost so much to get a divorce? Because it's worth it.
