Brandon Reed to ACC
Maybe being closer to his grandmother was BS. But since he couldn't have ended up any closer to grandma I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. From Jeff Goodman's Blog;
Brandon Reed wanted to be closer to home.
The Atlanta native got his wish, committing to Georgia Tech on Monday night.
The6-foot-3, 180-pound Reed, who averaged 15.1 points last season and was the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, confirmed the news of his commitment to FOXSports.com on Monday night.
Reed took visits to Georgia Tech, Clemson and Tennessee in the past week.

Did he ever get released by ASU so he can be on scholarship next year?

Not really sure. I hope not since there was some fishy stuff going on.

Yes. The AD wanted to hold it up. Brady wasn't happy but refusing to release was never an option as far as he was concerned.
