I've seen this. #41 for Cincinnati is a FREAKING JOKE, and people will, once again, find that out.

That is unbelievable to see UC get put 41st when most publications have them in the top 20. That being said, all of these rankings should be thrown out as far as I'm concerned, as we shouldn't see anything until at least mid-October.

Syracuse is way too low (well, technically high)-they return a lot of starters andhave a quality front 7. They should win 5 or 6 games this year.

RE: Sporting News Top 100
Look at it this way, UC fans - a few years back, in 06, Athlon had us something like 3-9 at best, we go 7-5 and beat Rutgers. The year after, we were pretty much consensus 70-80 range, we finished top 25 and went 10-3. Year after that, in 2008, I believe most people had us in the 40s-50s and we win the conference and go to the Orange Bowl. Last year, there were one or two magazines that put us in the top 25 but most were around 30-40, and a few jackasses put us even lower, and look what happened. So we're 41st in this one? Cool, that means we'll probably be #2 or so at the end of the year.

Edit: Upon consultation of the 2009 version of TSN's Top 100, UC was picked 5th in the Big East, 46th in the nation, and going to the International Bowl.

RE: Sporting News Top 100
Why everyone worries about preseason polls, when we have to deal with this sh!t every year, is beyond me. But it seems we have to follow the same script every year when the preseason polls come out. Nobody really knows the conference, which means the polls are never an accurate judge of BEast strength and talent. So why complain? This is nothing new...

Athlon picks UC at 6-6 this year. So I am sure we will win the league again?!?
