2010-2011 basketball recruiting classes
I'm curious to know who you signed, along with stats and projected impact on your team and in the league.

Here's ETSU's 2010-2011 signees:
Ryan Woumn, 6'3", 170lb PG, Boston, MA:
-26 ppg, 6 apg, 5 rpg
-McDonald's All-American nominee
-Said to be a 'heady' and gritty point guard
-With Sollazzo as our presumptive starting pg and with Cooley as a viable back up, I'm not sure how much PT Woumn will get as a true freshman.

Curtis Wilkinson, 6'8" 220 lb PF, Bude, MS. via San Bernardino C.C.:
-11 ppg, 7 rpb, 1.4 bpg
-Said to be a solid shot blocker, transition player and an "incredible athlete"
-Reportedly only played 2 years of organized basketball
-Has a solid chance to start at the '5' for us.

Anthony Johnson, 6'7" 235 PF, L.A., CA., via Cosumnes River C.C.:
-16 & 8 points and rebounds respectively
-Described as versatile and tough
-Like Wilkinson, has the opportunity for significant PT with the opportunity to start at the 4 or 5.

All in all, our recruiting needs for next season were met: We added depth in the post as well as a true point guard.

And don't forget, Mike Smith returns next season. 05-nono

How did your team do on the recruiting front?

Belmont:

J.J. Mann - a 6'6" shooting guard who spent a year at the #1 ranked prep school in the U.S., Hargrave Military Academy. Not exactly sure on his stats but he showed up as the points leader several times throughout the year. He will come in behind Clark but I still expect with Byrds system of playing a deep bench for him to get decent minutes.

Chad Lang - 6'11" 270lbs, I'd expect him to redshirt this year and probably won't get minutes until Hedgepeth and Saunders graduate. A project player with a basketball rich family; dad was a journeyman in the NBA, mom played at Arkansas, brother at UMASS.

Blake Jenkins - 6'7" sf who redshirted last year. He will most likely be the best athlete on the Belmont team. Will backup House and Campbell but will see some minutes at power forward.

We only lost 1 player, Belcher, so we are returning a young roster and because of this I don't see many of the fresh faces getting much run this year.

RE: 2010-2011 basketball recruiting classes
We signed a bunch of dudes but will have to look up particulars on most of them. Also a power forward transfer from Stony Brook that becomes eligible this year and transfers came in from Delaware and Liberty that will sit out until 2011-12.

Since Afro4president ran down the Belmont recruits for me and the original post did ETSU, here's Campbell and FGCU.

Campbell has signed three players, two JUCO bigs and a really large (6'8) guard out of high school in Houston. The big guard is named Anthony Horton, perhaps Laing hoping for another J-Rod? JUCO teammates at Garden City CC in Kansas - 6'9 center Martell Jackson and 6'8 forward Eric Griffin. Griffin is originally from down here in Orlando, went to Boone HS which also produced recent Stetson star Garfield Blair.

FGCU has four guys coming in, including 6'10 Ole Miss transfer Kevin Cantinol - he becomes eligible at semester break. 6'2 guard Marlon Rivera comes from Santa Fe JC in Gainesville, he was one of the highest-scoring JUCO players in the Florida section. Chase Fieler is a 6'8 swingman from Parkersburg, West Virginia, strikes me as a sharpshooter like a taller Reed Baker. Christophe Varidel is a 6'2 guard from Worcester, Mass. who was actually a member of the Switzerland U-20 national team. Looks like the shot in the arm class on paper that the Eagles needed.

RE: 2010-2011 basketball recruiting classes
Here is a website that seems to be good for recruiting. Some of the articles on the side about each school have more information about complete recruiting classes. Like sometimes a school has signed 5 but it might only list 3. you can then look up the other names in their database and piece it all together with recruiting stars and heights and positions. some of those etsu fans have more time than others. if they get bored might be worth doing a whole recap. sorry i don't have the time.

Upstate signed a ton of dudes, going heavy on the scoring - no other option, they had jack squat coming back.

Kennesaw States Recruiting Class

Aaron Anderson (Small/Power Forward) 6'7 210
Transferring from Central Arizona College where he averaged 9PTS and 10REB per game as a freshman. Dismal FT%

Mirza Sabic (Shooting Guard/Small Forward) 6'5 215lbs
Also transferring from Central Arizona College where he averaged 8PTS per game.
Ingle’s thoughts on the duo:
“We are excited to have Aaron and Mirza sign with us,” said Ingle on his first two signees of the year. “We expect a lot out these two men as soon as they get on campus.”

Brandon Dawson (Small/Power Forward) 6'6 220lbs
Played at Tucker High School where he averaged over 10REB per game.

Andrew Osemhen (Power Forward/Center) 6’8 230lbs
Played at Grayson High School where he averaged 12PTS and 9REB per game.
Ingle’s thoughts “What really impressed us as a staff is Andrew’s seriousness about being a great student in the classroom and being a very good person,” added Ingle. “He is a little raw at this point, but we feel that his best days are in front of him and provided he brings the work ethic we anticipate he will see some minutes as a freshman.”

*RJ Hall (Point Guard) 5’10 165
Hard to follow.. Sophomore from Suffolk Community College
