RE: NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Thread
Somehow, seeing Hopkins at 7-8 with #10 Georgetown left out of the tournament looks even worse than it did last week.

not to mention notre dame, who we beat head-to-head and generally sucked the entire year. forgot about JH being in too. The entire tournament was/is pretty weak this year though, lots of mediocre teams got in - if we had a tournament with only tourney-worthy teams this year I'm not sure it'd take more than a few hours to play.

There are technically eight at large bids but it's understood that Johns Hopkins and the three ACC schools that didn't win its tournament will get in with a .500 or better record. In that sense, there's really only four at-large and the Big East, for now, only gets one of them.

Expand to how many? 24 or 32? Given the dearth of D1 lax programs (60 at last count), I believe the field of 16 is appropriate. I also think the gap between the top and bottom tier lax programs to be larger than in most other sports (basketball included), but that's certainly a debatable point. If true though, it would make any possible upsets less likely, and the first round match-ups in an expanded tournament less compelling (unlike basketball where a mid-major team could, and does, knock off a top-seed in any number of match-ups).

Not sure, the idea that being ranked 10th in the nation at not making the post season bothers me.
LAX is growing with the younger kids and I expect that in 10 years or so we'll see many more college varsity programs
