Well, we're 14-8 in the Big East. The bigger problem has been OOC. We've lost to such titans as North Florida, Stetson, Eastern Illinois, Stephen F. Austin, and Mercer.

Given our location advantage, it's really inexcusable that cold weather schools like Uconn, St John's and Pitt are leading the way while we're mired in the middle of the BE pack. Embarrassing.

Q.V. is speaking about South Florida, of course, not Georgetown. The Hoyas are 4-17 in the conference and two games removed from their 24th consecutive season under .500.

Oh I agree. But if you would have seen our facilities, that was EMBAREASSING. I would say we probably had worst facilities that some of those smaller state schools you mentioned. That will finally change and USF will become a great place to play baseball. Our future looks bright

Yes, once the new facilities are on line, we should be able to develop to the point where we dominate the Big East, and play toe-to-toe with FSU/UF/Miami.

the beast would improve as a total conference to kick out seton hall, providence, georgetown and depaul.

add ucf, tcu, memphis and houston............. negotiate a non split deal if this is done............

They play Lacrosse up that way. Don't ya know? They couldn't fit a baseball field under their dome. It's too small...

I'll be surprised if USF ever dominates the Big East in baseball while Prado is your head coach. He's a good coach, but not a great coach. I don't think he has what is needed to take schools to the next level.

While UofL likely can't expect to hold on to McDonnell forever, he's clearly shown to be a next level guy. Beyond him, I don't know much about the coaches at Pitt & UConn, but at this point they are doing more with less than Prado. Especially at Pitt since they aren't even playing at the full scholarship level allowed by the NCAA.

RE: USF 12 UConn 1
To follow Yosemite, here are the full standings for the 10 teams still alive for the conference tournament. Next week we have the final 3 games, and only Seton Hall and Georgetown have been eliminated.

UConn 18-5
UL 18-6
Pitt 17-6
StJ 15-9
USF 14-10
Rutgers 13-11
Notre Dame 10-14
Cincy 10-14
----------
Villanova 8-16
WVU 8-16

The top 6 through Rutgers are locked in. ND, UC, Nova, and WVU are fighting for the final two spots to continue their seasons. UC is very likely to make since they close with the last place Hoyas. The Irish host Louisville so they could be caught for the final spot by the winner of the WVU-Nova series.

At the top of the standings UConn is sitting in nice position with the half game lead and only needing to match the final weekend wins by the Cards and Panthers. Any of the top 3 could could gain the top seed though, and thus avoid playing another NCAA lock until the BE tournament finals.

Next week's schedule
UofL @ ND
SH @ UConn
USF @ Pitt
GTown @ UC
ST J's @ Rutgers
WVU @ Villanova

Someone needs to change the title of this thread. UCONN already beat USF 2 out of the 3 and still atop of the BE standing.

Witha home series vs. Seton Hall, UConn should win the regular season Big East title-a big resume booster.

UL and UConn should be 1 seeds IMO. Pitt should be a two seed...wish they had better midweek pitching, because those embarrassing Kent State losses are going to hurt them.

UofL's a 1, and in solid shape for a national seed if they continue winning. UConn is right on the border for a 1, but will likely get it with a strong finish based on desrving it, with location really helping. Pitt is a likely 2 seed.

I think Big East has three stong NCAA teams in UL,UConn and Pitt. This has been the Big East best year in baseball in a long time. Maybe ever.

Dumb post; let me educate you.

There is also some great high school baseball in our region. Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois has some outstanding high school talent.

UofL has been plucking the very best out from this region for a few years now; there is enough talent in this region to build a program that can compete with anyone. We will be solid for a long time.

USF has a long way to go to even match what we have done the last few years and will do this year. 03-melodramatic

Plus, now we have Coach McDonnell, who is one of the best.

And he replaced your current coach, Coach Prado, who came from here and is just average. I'm sure you will give Prado a couple of more years, but watch and see what doesn't happen. 03-shhhh
