RE: Recruits for 2011-2012
Just saw this on twitter:

Congrats to ETSU incoming Freshman Rashawn Rembert, out of Tampa Sickles for being named to the FACA 5A All State Boys Basketball Team.

For all the talent that comes out of Florida, that is HUGE.

Everything I have seen on Rashawn lists him as 6'3"..but I found a photo on line of Sickles girls basketball center Amber Henson who signed with Duke.. and boys basketball guard Rashawn Rembert who signed with ETSU.. They do not list his height..but they say she is 6'4"..However... in the photo, it looks like he is taller than she is.. so..something does not compute??? Maybe they are not truthfull about her.. or even better, maybe he has grown...

RE: Recruits for 2011-2012
Here's a list of players transferring from D1 institutions across the country. Given whom we lose next season-Adam, Zeke, Curtis-perhaps Bartow will be looking to add a player who has a year of practice under their belt with us and can step in right away after the mandatory "sit" year.

Faithful:

Thanks for sharing this list. Lots of interesting names. One that jumps out at me is Aaric Murray, 6-10 of LaSalle. He apparently turned down a number of Big East schools to go to LaSalle, but has a shaky attitude. There is a roundabout ETSU connection, with former assistant Will Bailey now at LaSalle. Will probably would tell Bartow to steer clear, but it does sound like Murray is a big guy with some talent.

Just think...Murray could play for Murry which could be a tad confusing if the Bucs play Murray State again.

Not that he is interested, but I heard you do not want to go near Murray. According to a good source, he is a trainwreck. Look for him to try and go pro.

RE: Recruits for 2011-2012
Murray does sound like a train wreck. Another interesting name on the list is Garrick Sherman, 6-10 post man from Michigan State. From this article, he sounds like a solid guy who might be a real plus for a mid-major program:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/64873...n-and-lose

Sherman is from Ohio, and I'm guessing a lot of the MAC schools will be after him in a major way--maybe Missouri Valley schools, too. Might be tough for ETSU to get in the picture, but I wouldn't mind seeing a big guy with Tom Izzo tutelage in a Buc uniform.

2011 D1 transfer list:
http://jeffgoodman.yardbarker.com/blog/j...us/4607668

Note that Curtis & A.J. are on this list. Also note that Dakota Euton, whom we were actively recruiting last year (we may have even offered), is transferring from Akron.

Several 'bigs' transferring. Bartow has stated on several occasions that he may try to land a transfer. Perhaps he has one of these in mind.

That's a long list of guys leaving with very few listings of places where they are going.. so there's probably a lot of recruiting going on with this list.. App State has enough players leaving to make up almost a whole team for somebody...

Garland said he wanted to use his 2 years at Walters State to try and improve his game so he could play at the D1 level.

Way early for this one, but showing interest in Riley Caudill from Kentucky. Think he will be class of 2013 or 2014.

RE: Recruits for 2011-2012
Looking at the transfer list I noticed that Dakotah Euton (Akron) has transferred to Asbury College in Ky. Could ETSU be interested in either DeAndre Nealy (6-6 240 lb transfer from Kent State) or Nathan Parker (6-6 200lb transfer from Wofford)? I think we recruited both at one time - Nealy from Mott CC and Parker from Knoxville.

RE: Recruits for 2011-2012
I'm not sure, but I don't think so. I heard a few weeks ago (from a reliable source) that we were on track to sign a "5th year" player, and neither Parker nor Nealy would be considered a 5th year player.
