To the administrators on this board
Perhaps this board should be renamed the CUSA expansion board, or a new board could be created just for Big East fans to discuss expansion issues. This one has been completely overiden.

I don't know if we have go that far. I'm fairly new here, but I think our CUSA friends have some unique points of views different to the conventional wisdom that the current BE schools have - especially us older BE schools like Pitt, RU, SU and WVU. I don't include UCONN because they are new to BCS football themselves, and basically all of the expansion issues are driven by football anyways. Plus some of the CUSA posters appear to be "connected" to their schools decision makers, which result in interesting blurbs of info that can help all of us put together a picture of what is happening. Exciting times for all.

RE: To the administrators on this board
I've noticed nearly all the actual BE posters have left these boards. CUSA has their own forum. Just would be nice to have discussion with actual BE posters rather than any time anyone brings up any subject-- the same overrun to discuss which CUSA teams the BE must add or what form of CUSA BE schools will merge into.

RE: To the administrators on this board
I thought the expansion/split forum dealt with issues involving the addition/subtraction/removal of current/prospective members. Leagues directly above the BE in the pecking order (B12/ACC) and those directly below (CUSA/MWC) are the conferences that will be interested in the status composition of the future BE. What is amiss?

No. A more suitable name is the Big Ten expansion board.

IMO, some of the CUSA fans would do well to remember this is a BE board and not spend their time pimping their school or whining about someone not liking them. I *try* to limit my conversation with discussion on the general topic and not get caught up in whether or not Poster X likes my school/team.

School pimping drives me batty. Most of it is about "potential" and rarely discusses relevant facts or the inter-college politics that shape the game. None of us are decision makers in the realignment. History has consistently proven that even conference commissioners and athletic directors are limited in their influence over the process.

It's a fine line. I got no issue advancing an argument for the program I follow, but it does a poster well to remember that this is a secondary function of this board, with the first being the internal machinations of the BE.

Obviously fans of UM, UCF, ECU, Temple, etc are here for a reason however. Such is the basis of interweb boards...

RE: To the administrators on this board
I agree with the OP to a degree, it would be nice to bounce around ideas to other school members without being overrun with outside influences. The only problem is even if something were posted on the main board, like the current Tagliabue Plan thread, they'll come anyways and input their 2 cents on why the idea is good or sucks.

School pimping is such a weird phenomena to me. It comes off as pathetic begging. I could never justify going to a Big 12 or ACC site and doing a run down of accomplishments, athletic expansion, research, etc. and then argue with other potential members on why we're better. People do realize they are just talking to other fans, right... right?

People write negative remarks about USF all over the Internet and are allowed to have that opinion. I don't need to crusade for justice to fix everything I don't agree with.

Sadly, I'm not sure they do. Teams will either get included or not...nothing said on this board will influence the decision about which ones or how many.

For everyone complaining about fans engaging in "school pimping", you just need to remember that

Buckaineer, I'm not so sure it's out of bounds. They are here to discuss the BE. I guess the salesmanship thing has potential to be a nuisance. After all, we (the posters) don't even make those decisions.

RE: To the administrators on this board
Agreed BJUnkFkr. All teams that are involved in the expansion possibilities should be allowed to comment and take part in discussions here. Yes the pimping is a little out of line, but so is the out-right bashing and know-it-all attitudes that some have here. Garmuck is right, we are all fans here and are of course going to have a vested interest in one team or another. Discussions here shouldn't be limited to presentations of facts and data. I swear I expect to see a powerpoint presentation on here before long, but should include an open exchange of ideas and viewpoints concerning all involved. If it seems like a lot of CUSA teams are represented on here its because we have the most to gain from expansion. CUSA teams are located in a more football orientated region of the country and because of that may seem to have a stronger opinion than some fans of BE schools. In the end none of us have any say about what happens and everybody just needs to remember that.

I know and don't really expect a change. It's just sad to see what was becoming a great board degenerate to the daily repetition of the same posers and posters going over the same bs. No matter what information anyone tries to put forth or discuss, it always degenerates to the same groups pimping ad nauseum about their schools that have nothing to do with Big East football.

Honestly, this is one of the few boards anywhere that is dedicated solely to expansion, and most of the people here are fans of schools that are in one way or another tied to the expansion issue. Outside of a little banter here and there, I think most of the threads I have read, have been pretty civil. When ever I see these kinds of threads- I certainly understand why they are started- but I would counter that having people from many different conferences come to one place actually makes it more interesting, and as annoying as the salesman pitch is, if it's not done excessively, it can actually be informative. I have actually learned a lot about other programs in the last few weeks...
