This bio of Walker mentions it:

Here's a nice article on Cusack, focusing on his Boston victory, and noting that Prefontaine was injured in that 1972 NCAA finals race. (Pre won the year before.):

Nice Cusack story......

Here it is in Wikepedia:

NCAA Cross-Country Championships

(Note Pre won it in '70, '71, and '73.....)

Pitt**** always thought it had never happened, but I didn't bother to correct him........

Some of you all who aren't from around here may not know that Johnson City was named "#1 Running City in America", by either "Runner's World", or "Runner" magazine back in the heyday of running here - in the late '70s.......
It was an amazing time here for running......

Please show me the post where I have said Neil Cusack never won a title.

I have caught you in a serious lie.

Just to summarize (to some extent), ETSU's brushes with national championships, now with the addition of the Final Four in tennis doubles:

minor update to the above stuff

[apologies that you all have to be exposed to you-know-who]

And that doesn't include the disc golf finish this year, although that's really a club sport level thing. I think ETSU finished about 4th or 5th there this year.
