That's good to hear. D.C. Needed a win. I intend to see it next week.
Strictly major movie speaking..... for DC's properties...
Superman I and II were great.
Superman III and IV were sh*.
Superman Returns was kind of in the middle... if it would have had more action it would have been better. I thought the casting was good.
Man of Steel--hmmm, it had a a lot of back story and other elements I liked but it might have been "too bleek." That said, I don't mind DC going fundamentally different than the Marvel stuff.
Batman and Batman Returns were great movies.
Batman Forever was tolerable.
Batman and Robin was sh*. It took everything I hated about BF and upped it even more.
Batman Begins was a great way to do a new trilogy... liked the tone and the backstory put forth.
The Dark Knight was just a great movie.
The Dark Knight Rises was solid overall but, IMO, it ran about 20m too long.
Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice was fine for what it was... a set up movie to the Justice League. I think too many naysayers wanted DC to put its characters in Marvel-styled clone movies.
Suicide Squad was pretty cool and I liked it. I think they had the right cast but they could have tightened up some areas to have made it better.
Honestly though, Wonder Woman is arguably their 3rd most high profile character outside of Superman and Batman. I wonder if they were able to get her "more right" because of less cinematic baggage from prior big screen outings. It is refreshing to see that critics are willing to give her movie props though.
