SBC returning starters
If I didn’t make any mistakes and if my information is current, here are the starters returning next season for each SBC team. “Starters” is by total minutes played. If my info needs correcting, I appreciate any help.

LR – 5
ASU – 5
DU – 4
FAU – 5
FIU – 3
ULL – 3
ULM – 3
MTSU – 2
NT – 4
USA – 4
Troy – 0
WKU – 2

NT returns four starters, WKU only returns two, and yet ESPN automatically picks WKU to go to the NCAA next season?

You've got to look at the quality of the returners. Even though we return five, there's isn't a real D-1 quality player among them. I doubt that any of them could start for any of the better teams in the league.

I guess I've said the same thing, at times, during the season but I would have to rank Solo as "real D-1 quality player". He was originally signed by Ole Miss and then was released to go to South Florida after his dad left Oxford. I believe he may have started for USF as a freshman- a BCS school, although obviously not a very good one at the time. He averaged around 15 pts for us. I think he could play, and likely, start for a lot of college teams around the country. I think Alex is also a quality player. If Bails can improve another 10-15%, I think he could be a player that a lot of teams would love to have.

Clearly did no research with that. I would agree with you that picking UNT would be the smarter pick.

WKU will be very much a wild card with 8 new players, but several of them are plug and play.

I would always be hesitant to guess against WKU, but this particular year that was not the logical guess.

Okay, I am biased but I really think ASU should be in position to win it next year.

We return all 5 starters and hopefully a healthy Daniel Bryant. We also bring in 6'8" Malcoln Kirkland from OSU, 6'9"/265 Chano Rashiduddin and 6'7" RS FR Kinley Branch.

Oh, preseason first team all conference player Daniel Boone may receive a hardship and return as well.

We will be in the mix.

ASU should have the most talented, deepest team in the league. If they don't win it, Brady is not as good of a coach as I thought.

I've heard the college coaching is 75% recruiting, 15% game mangement and 10% luck. I don't know if stAte will have THE most talent in the league. WKU should never be underestimated, UNT has good talent and Mike Jarvis has done a rebuild at FAU that mirrors what Brady has done at stAte. Brady does deserve the credit for getting us in a competitive posture very quickly.

Unless Boone gets another year, the only remaining players signed by Nutt are Jeremy Thomas and Trey Finn.

I think FAU will be in contention next season. I believe they were second to St. Louis as the youngest team in D1. They only had 2 upper classmen on the team and started 2 freshmen and 1 sophmore.

ASU was one of the 3 youngest teams in the country as well. Started 3 freshmen, a sophomore and a junior.
