PJ will be the same day as NFL playoff games? Yeck.

Beyond that, it seems clear that at the bottom-feeder bowl level, these types of drawn out discussions will be the norm. Everyone wants an SEC or Big 10 team in their bowl, even if it's the #8 or #9 team, but many years they won't qualify, so "backup" arrangements with other conferences will be struck.

It's occupying the spot that the International Bowl would have. That bowl was always played on the Saturday early afternoon of NFL wild card weekend with the idea that they would finish before the NFL games start.

yeah, and that worked out real well for them ... Let's face it: on wild-card weekend, football fans are psyched for NFL football, not college, and especially not a bottom-feeder bowl.

thanks to the sec, BE may not play here every year. May get into liberty bowl. Its an upgrade for BE and not bad for what is the mainly the BE5 team.

I think the best way to think of this whole shuffle is that the Big East will play the SEC in a bowl, virtually every year. Most years it may be the PJ.com, some it may be the Liberty. It all depends on the number of SEC eligible teams.

Speak for yourself. Any college football is better than the NFL. With that said, I've been known to be in the minority in that view. 03-drunk
