A lot to look forward to as a Sun Belt team. North Texas would have been a #23 seed and played Missouri in the play-in round. I guess that gives a Belt team a better chance of winning a game- but that just gets you in the "real" tournament- the 64 team field. I just see no support for this among fans, sports writers (not counting our own esteemed Wally Hall), etc. I'm not so sure its a great thing for BCS coaches. They will look REALLY bad if they don't get in and most BCS fans will expect their team to get past the "play-in" round or the season will be seen as a failure. I guess I could live with the 96 teams if they take the regular season champ and tournament winner from every conference- I'm just far from convinced they will do that. They will issue a statement that they will "strongly" consider conference champs from mid to low major conferences, but I can't see them guaranteeing spots for all those teams.

I agree with a lot if not all of your statements. However, it appears that a 96 team tournament is coming, so we all better just go ahead and accept that it will happen.

When they have a 346 team tournament, and we're the only team not to make it, we'll take a serious look at a coaching change.
