What is that column behind the red pick-up that says KENTUCKY on it 03-weeping

I know Louisville is IN Kentucky, but it looks odd to have a column that says the name of your arch-rival in front of your new arena. Hopefully it is coming down.

That is one of the columns that welcomes you after you cross The George Rogers Clark Bridge from Indiana to Kentucky. There are two columns at each end of the bridge that have the respective state's name on them.

Very nice. It looks great! I think Rent was designed by the same firm and should look similar if UCONN ever does expand.

A little over 80K though I suspect it will be at least a decade (probably longer) before there is an expansion talk on that front.

I'm sure somewhere in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is etched on something. That is the bridge into our state. I suppose we should stop singing my old kentucky home at the end of every game as well...01-wingedeagle

As 07 said 80+k. It looks bigger because of the chair-back seating. It has been noted if we had bleechers we could have fit 50K+ in pretty comfortably.

The 80k config would have the upper deck wrap around to meet the B&W club side and enclose the horseshoe on the lower bowl.

I'm definitely making a game there in 2011...looks like a great venue (Papa John's). BTW, I see a rotation happening soon...UL and Cuse are both moving up in the standings...who is coming down?

I think someone's sarcasm detector was turned off. Plus since when are UPenn and Pitt rivals in anything?

Thanks, and you're right, Pitt and Penn aren't rivals in any sports. And for a historical fact, Pitt was named the Western University of Pennsylvania until 1908.
