Spring Signing Day Approaching...new Recruits?
Just wondering if anyone else had heard of any recruits that we might possibly be signing in the upcoming signing period. I have a few that I have been digesting for a while that I'll share, but perhaps some of you have seen some official visits or heard some chatter on campus. We all know how our staff likes to play it close to the vest, so it is tough to find anything out, but here are some names I have heard mentioned this year that might be of interest.

Aaron Walker - strong kid from a juco out in texas. Apparently he is very physical. Not sure where we are with him. Left handed and I think originally from Sweden, could be wrong on that though.

Nate Hicks - high schooler out of Florida. 6'10" and heavily recruited. Nate signed with Tulane during the early signing period, but with Tulane's coach resigning that would open him back up if he so desired. Rivals had Jacksonville and the Naval Academy showing as offers as well.

Dave Bishop (not sure on the name) - can't quite remember this kid's name, all I know is that he is 7'0"+ and a big. Just heard his named mentioned a few times, but I think our staff is a big fan. Would be great to have another big body in the post.

That is about all I can remember right now. Anyone else have any names they have heard dropped?

RE: Spring Signing Day Approaching...new Recruits?
Those offers to Bailey/Dabel have been out for quite some time (see the recruiting thread). I wonder if our coaches are still actively recruiting/evaluating them?

KB, any idea if we have one or two scholies left?

Adarius Fulton

Hard to tell if the interest is serious from either side (considering how hard it is to get info on low major programs) but it appears Adarius Fulton could be interested in KSU. He's a 6'2 PG out of Lithonia, GA.

If we are down to one scholie.. I'm assuming it'll be a big man or a PG. Hopefully we have two and can grab one of each.

We had one and Irby is leaving, so that will make 2, not counting the seniors.

3 star recruit Jamison Sterns is back on the market. He decided not to go to UTEP because of the coaching change. I'm not sure if we can land him, but you never know.

I watched Sterns play in high school, the kid can play! I wouldn't be surprised if he backed out of UTEP to try for the open scholarship at Baylor, but regardless I don't want him in the ASUN.

He does have that football player body. He'd abuse the pg's in this league physically.

At least we are mentioned as one of the finalists. Although Spencer played better last year PG is still a position of need. I would love to see him commit and push for serious minutes as a true frosh. I would have to think playing time is something we can offer over his other options.

We never in depth insight to everyone Coach Ingle is looking to sign.. but we normally have more information floating around than this. With 2-3 scholies floating around.. I'm hoping for some big news soon.

I wont complain if we sign a JUCO.. but I'd prefer sign a high school/prep school kid that has four years to play for us. We've been burned by a few JUCO guys the last couple of years. Considering we only have one high school senior committed right now.. I hope thats the direction we go.

Marine was a 2/3 that was supposed to have a sweet stroke from long range.. or this was his story coming out. Sometimes it takes high school guys a year or so adjust to the college game.. Some times we have to reach on talent.. Whatever the case may be Artie hasn't materialized into a contributor.. yet. Hopefully he continues to work hard and improve.

Good news KR. We obviously need one.. lets hope he has a little weight on him. I like Ladaris' future in the post.. but we need someone with an offensive presence.

Share the wealth MH. Its a message board.. I don't think anyone goings to get edgy over a subject as long as you state it as a rumor, not a fact (which you have done).

Who is he, and where did he transfer from?

Interesting recruit. I think Hall was freshman all conference...sounds like he might need a fresh start. He will be a year younger than Spencer, so that could work out nicely. Good research Mike.

It says he played at Suffolk Community and was a freshman? Yet he played at Marist D1 at the same time? I'm officially confused. Can anybody make sense of it?

http://sosportz.blogspot.com/2010/05/ric...unity.html

Tell everyone about yourself?
My name is Richard (RJ) Hall. I am a freshman in college and attend Suffolk Community College-Grant. I have a 3.8 GPA. I averaged 15.3 ppg, 5.9 apg, 2 spg, and 4rpg. I helped lead my team to a winning record. I'm a tough 6'0 ft point guard who is lights out shooting. I will be attending Kennesaw State University next year to play basketball.

What is your dream in life?
My dream is to utilize basketball to get an education, which I am doing, and possibly play pro. My goal for next year is to get a 4.0 GPA and come into Kennesaw State, work hard, earn playing time, and contribute to help our team win.

What was your best game?
I've had a lot of good games. My best game of my life was an AAU game my 11th grade year. I scored 32 points and I topped that off by scoring 27 points the next day in a high school summer league game. My best game last year was when I almost had my first career triple double against Seldon CC. I had 17 points, 9 assist, and 9 rebounds.

Why are sports/education important to you?
It's important to me, because both teach you how to work hard, both teach you certain values on how to be successful and grow into a mature young adult. You get nowhere in life without an education. I play to use my education to open my own law practice and sports agency.

How do you make your team better?
I make my team better by playing good, tough defense, being a point guard, distributing the ball, being a leader, being aggressive, and scoring when I need to score.

What advice can you give other student-athletes?
Work hard. Always work hard. Don't give up because a coach tells you that you aren't good enough. Use that as a motivation to continue to work harder. You can have 100 coaches tell you no, but the 101st one could think you're perfect for his team. Do the intangibles: dive for balls, take charges, play defense.

Sounds like he won't be sitting out... So I assume he was at Suffolk Community?

RE: Spring Signing Day Approaching...new Recruits?
From that video RJ looks like a player. Great basketball instincts, very explosive off the dribble, and is able to finish. I am pretty excited about what I saw. Perhaps he was a 4-2-4 transfer. If a player signs out of high school with a university, and then transfers to a juco, then can then transfer back to a 4 year institution without having to sit out a year. But I think you have to spend one year either sitting out or playing at the the juco. Thus if he was only at the juco for 1 semester, then I think he would be eligible for the spring semester of basketball which would mean he would miss all the games up until about the middle of December.

Pretty exciting player though....good find Mike.
