in the paper every few days. It could be an article about a player, our coach, or one of our assistant coaches, or a former player, or someone's family, or something about UALR's recruits, or our AD. There is always something to write about. Human interest stories. Recruiting.
We just don't seem to understand the value of perception. The more UALR's men's basketball program is written about and talked about, the more credibility it gathers. Is that so difficult to understand?
Because of the Hogism in this state, we need even more exposure than most programs just to offset that problem. There is plenty of space in the paper to fill. Right now they have to depend on national news. Some UALR basketball news every few days shouldn't be difficult to get into the paper.
Hell, I'll be happy to write something for free if needed.
I was once the non paid bowling columnist of the Pine Bluff Commercial back in the early 60's. My family and I did receive our bowling for 11 cents a line. Not a bad deal. If Wally Hall, Jeff and Chris would allow me to do this, and would be cooperative, I'd be happy to do so. Anything I wrote wouldn't conflict with what Jeff does. My purpose would just be something to write about that could keep the program in the public eye. Jeff would do the real stuff anyway. Well, I'm not going to worry about it. I'd just like to see something in the paper on a regular basis about our program. Heck, Scotto and ynocpirt could probably do it with their eyes closed. As could probably others, but some are still young enough to have to work to make a living. Being retired, it wouldn't be a problem for me. I'll just be like Billy Gillispie. Waiting for a call.
