RE: South Alabama Fans Starting To Sound Alot Like Western Ky Fans
this thread reminds me of the threads started by one lone lunatic georgia southern fan that was soooo entertaining last summer...

Thank god Sagarin doesn't include ratings of prep school jayvee squads or I'm sure we would see that cited...

RE: South Alabama Fans Starting To Sound Alot Like Western Ky Fans
Can someone explain to me why South Alabama fans are putting the Sun Belt down when in reality if they stepped onto the field with any current member they would get beaten soundly? FIU and FAU are in hotbed of talent and yet they have not dominated the conference. FAU had a couple of good years, but that is all. Beat your chest now South fans because soon someone else will be dishing out the beating to you.

Because after 3 years in the SBC they'll be getting a call from the Big East. Just like FAU did. . .

Until USA has made that jump, or until the lunatics remove Rutgers/Pitt/Syracuse etc. from their 2018 future schedule, I suggest we all just laugh and bite our tongues.

They are already talking down Sun Belt football. They think they are too good for the conference and already need to move on to the CUSA. They dont want to play a bunch of "no name" teams in the Sun Belt. I personally will be looking forward to their first 0-12 season when they start playing big boy football Sun Belt teams instead of the high school teams they played last season. Western Ky changed their toon real quick when they saw D1 football is not 1AA. I imagine USA will too.
________________________________________________________

Let me start out by saying it is evident that you're attempting to stir the pot on a day when you're apparently bored to death. Better you know what you're talking about before posting such nonsense. There are plenty of fans of Sun Belt schools who would love to see their schools in a better conference including the C-USA. There is not one fan on this forum who would not love to be in that conference. You would be lying to yourselves if you said that the SBC is not one of 2 conferences in the FBS that are scratching the bottom of the barrel. Look at the records of the SBC schools in OOC games against Div. 1-A schools. Are you proud of that?

Sure South Alabama fans would like to be in C-USA playing UAB, USM, Memphis, Marshall, Tulane, Rice, etc. So would MTSU, Troy, UL and others. South Alabama is the only charter member left in the Belt and had the opportunity to leave and upgrade but they did not and hung on and were thrown in with the teams currently trying to exist with low football attendances and apathetic fans. You come on this forum talking crap and flaming other schools like you are a legit BCS member school and putting down newcomers like WKU and USA, but really you have but little to crow about and you darn well know it.

When this conference's fans really has something to brag about then do it. Until then don't embarrass yourselves with the big talk. USA surely has a long way to go to be competing on a level with the SBC, but it won't take long for us to start winning some games on a regular basis. By 2015 (if we're still in this conference) we'll be winning our fair share. The competition is just not that tough with the exception of Troy, of course. Make no mistake about it, Coach Joey Jones is a great coach who will take this team to bigtime football until one of the traditional and more established big schools scoops him up and offers him the big bucks.

How about you show a little humility seeing how South Alabama has never even played a bad D1 team. So you have watched a few Sun Belt teams lose to SEC teams and you think the SB sucks. You are going be in for a rude awakening when USA starts playing a Sun Belt schedule.

It's not that your fans aspire to be in a better conference. It's the fact that they downgrade and insult the Sun Belt before they ever even played a down in this conference. We get enough grief from every other conference in FBS football the last thing we want to hear is some USA fans talking smack about us while their team is still playing high school teams.

The nearest DIV I school to Mobile other than USA is USM, and it is still an hour away. Miami has FIU, Miami, and FAU in close proximity. Like I mentioned, it's not unreasonable that a team in arguably the most football obsessed state in the country which is in one of the best recruiting areas in the country could have moderate success (similar to FAU at least) early. Everyone in our conference has us destined to fail like WKU, which comes from arguably the most basketball obsessed state.

WKU has not failed. They are experiencing the typical pains of moving up in classification.

Any Jag fan is very well aware that they would not fair well at all against current SBC fans, but the sun doesn't shine on the same dog's tail always. You can bet your aunt fannie that by 2013 the Jags will be taken lightly by Belt opponents and will upset a few conference teams. Recruiting is going great and will only get better. But that is just my opinion. It will take several years after we are in the Belt to beat the likes of Troy, the Louisiana schools, ASU, and UNT.

I'm not a betting man, but I'll take that bet. USA will win 3 SBC games in their first 1-A season ?

Me take a hike? This message board was doing just fine without you, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I'm not leaving because you disagree with what I have to say and your insults are just too juvenile to affect me, but you have a nice day and try to get along with your fellowman. I would also suggest to you to try some anger-management classes.

So why was this moved to the smack board??? Talk about thin skinned...

Jags fans, everyone gets hassled. Everyone checks out the other guys message boards to find things to hassle them about.

Jags fandom has now been labeled bigger whiners than the ULM fans.

You dont wanna be hassled, dont post insane, stupid crap on your board.

Has anybody in this thread actually gone and read the thread from our board? I'm guessing no. HUGE overreaction. Just today our longtime former AD was on the radio talking about how he hoped that South would be in the right position when/if conference realignment happened. Nuff said. Get over it. Stupid

Yes it was stupid on his part. Little early for you to be changing conferences when you haven't taken you first beating in th Sun Belt. I read the thread and there are some day dreaming going on that board and this one by the South fans.

Good luck getting crushed. Can't wait to see that huge crowd you have at Rip Hewes stadium in Dothan this year.

I moved it because we really try to keep the main board free from this stuff. This board is exactly what these kinds of things are for.

Id actually LOVE to see the smack board more active. 05-stirthepot

Only caveats here are the standard UAP stuff and this...

DONT DO PERSONAL ATTACKS ON A POSTER.

Other then that have at it.

Coachs/Fan Bases/Goat Molesting its all free game here.

Dont come in without a thick skin, and be prepared to take as well as you get.

Hemi, you do realize that this is a "home game" for Edward Waters, don't you? The home team dictates where home games are played. I don't think that South Alabama scheduled it there. I seriously doubt that many fannies will be in the stands at Hewes Stadium. Actually I was looking forward to going to Jacksonville. As far as changing conferences, it probably won't happen anytime soon. Maybe within the next 5-7 years if at all.
