Need some options
Back early Feb, I was went to get a new social security card because mine was laminated and they phasing those out.

So I surrender my old card and was told a new one will arrive by mail in about two weeks. I inquired if it would be certified or something, they said nope.

went back about 3 weeks later. (no way you can contact them by phone).
They tell to put out a fraud alert and they will send me another one.

Called back today and they tell me they don't know what happen. I guess they are just shipping SS cards out to where ever the hell they please.

who's a$$-- besides my own for giving them my old card can i kick for this crap?

Not to be a wiseass, but why did you surrender the card in the first place? You should have just told them you lost it, and kept the laminated one for the interim. In the meantime, take down the names and phone numbers of each and every Government employee that you speak to (they are required to identify themselves whether they like it or not) so that you can have a paper trail to follow and assign blame. In the meantime, just keep bugging the sh!t out of them. They will get it done just to get you off their backs.

It was stupid. I already handed her my card before I asked about how it was mailed. They called me back after I posted apologizing. They said they switched to a new system and I just got lost in the switchover.

now I just need to drive back down there and pay 4 bucks for parking, take a number, and wait to fill out another application.

And hope 3 times a charm
