Nice hire for ULL
Sam Houston State’s Bob Marlin, accepted a head coaching job at Louisiana-Lafayette on Friday. After a lengthy meeting with UH officials late Thursday night did not result in a job offer, Marlin withdrew from consideration. Marlin, 51, rebuilt a moribund SHSU program to become the second-winningest coach in Southland Conference history (225-131, .632).

Marlin interviewed there. Gillespie and Floyd have been mentioned. Gillespie will likely end up back at UTEP or at Houston.

Probably whoever was his head assistant at Kentucky and/or A & M. I have no idea who that is.

I would assume those guys already have good jobs by now. There is a fairly young head coach at UALR who would fit that job perfectly.04-cheers
