Baylor Bears
In the days of the SW Conference I lived several years in Ft Worth. At that time the private schools tried to demand their recruits be academically qualified and did the normally expected classroom work. Now, look at the Baylor Bears, Men now in the Eiite 8 and the Lady Bears play Tenn tomorrow with a chance to make the Elite 8. And TCU is competing well in football and basketball. Makes me wonder if the private schools, Vanderbilt included, have given up and are now using the same academic standards as the public schools.

Those boosters are enjoying winning/paying. Just like Memphis, you may have to take the banners down but you can never take the memories.

How about them Bears. Both men and women's teams still in the hunt. First time in history a school has had both teams this far in the same year, accodring to the paper this morning. I'll guarantee you that Briner girl could be starting on our men's team. She's better than any big man we have. And that's really sad, isn't it.

What paper was that? Talk about lazy journalism. Last season UConn men made it to the Final 4 and their ladies won the national championship.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe I misread it. I'll get back to you on this one.04-cheers

My bad. What was reported was that Baylor men and women are playing the Duke men and women, and that it was the first time that two schools have met in the round of eight in both tournaments during the same season, according to STATS LLC. That should clear it up. Sorry about that. Thanks for pointing it out.04-cheers
