Which NCAA runs by Huggins teams have been wiped out, again?

How many players did Huggins graduate at UC -vs- Calipari at Memphis?

When Calipari took over the Memphis rate was 0%. When he left it was over 80%.

Mike DeCourcy cites the UC grad rate here; although I'm sure it's improved:
Quote:So a university trying to improve on-court performance can't just consider whether its coach won enough games in his third year on the job. It has to factor in whether moving him out will be sufficiently disruptive to lead to a slip in APR performance. That can lead to embarrassment -- ask Bob Huggins about what a dubious 0 percent grad rate did for him at Cincinnati -- and the competitive disadvantage of losing scholarships, practice time and possibly postseason eligibility.

What does getting caught driving under the influence have to do with running a clean program? Alcoholism is a disease, and our judicial system treats it like a checkout line for additional tax money. There is no system wide desire to help these people get off the booze. The system merely accepts a check, and then sends them on their way, knowing most of them will end right back in the DUI court later on...

Nancy Zimpher did UC a great favor. She got rid of Huggs, then left for another job, and UC hasn't been the same on the basketball court since...

He got that nickname while still playing at WVU. I remember WVU playing Pitt, and Pitt had this kid running the baseline that was just killing WVU. Bobby Huggins gave him a forearm shiver, broke his jaw, and that kid never ran the baseline again. WVU won the game too, by the way...

You can't pin that on Huggins. He can't force kids to graduate. Huggins graduated Summa *** Laude, and gives kids every opportunity to reach the same academic heights he acheived. But while you can lead a horse to water, you can't make it drink...

However, I realize you have your mind made up. You don't like Huggins. You don't like Stew. You don't like Ed Pastalong. And you claim you're a WVU fan, but continually show up denegrating WVU and The BEast. Go back to Nebraska...

You'd make excuses for Calipari if he was the WVU coach and you know it. I like Huggins just fine; I just realize what he is. Same thing with Calipari. Neither are choirboys.

03-lmfao A coach has everything to do with a player graduating. A coach can force his players to go to class, to keep their grades above a certain level to be able to play, assign tutors, schedule mandatory study halls, make sure his players are getting plenty of rest in season, etc. Claiming that you can't pin the poor graduation rates on Huggins is absurd.

Huggin's personal life is trash, he's an overweight alcoholic who thought he was bigger than the program. Only Huggins would have the balls to challenge an entire administration and the Board of Trustees. Zimpher was more of the messenger than anything, she could care less about the basketball program. The BoT made all the calls to get rid of Huggins. The reason Huggin's isn't still coaching at Cincinnati is because of his incredible arrogance (and perhaps an affair with BoT member's wife). With that said, the difference between Huggins and Calipari is while Huggin's as an individual is trash at least he doesn't cheat when it came to recruiting and getting players qualified (both are also excellent coaches though).

UCbball21, I see you're among the Bobby Huggins haters. But in case you weren't aware of it, Huggins has 5 players playing for WVU right now that are on schedule to graduate this spring; Da'Sean Butler, Wellington Smith, Joe Mazzula, Jonnie West, and Cam Thoroughman...

That has absolutely nothing to do with your statement regarding how you can't pin the terrible graduation rates to Huggins. So his hands are clean from the Cincinnati mess but now that he is improving at WVU you can attribute that success to Huggins? You can't have it both ways...

That's not what I'm saying. But since I don't feel like getting into an endless debate on the semantics of my statements, I'll leave you in ignorance. Think whatever you please...

RE: The Sleaziest Coach in a Sleazy Game
History of vacated NCAA tournament appearances since 1960. Many of these will have you saying "wait, when did that happen?"

* = Final Four appearance
** = Championship Game appearance

1961: St. Joseph's*
1971: Villanova**, Western Kentucky*, Long Beach State
1972: Minnesota, Long Beach State, UL-Lafayette
1973: Long Beach State, UL-Lafayette
1980: UCLA**, Oregon State, Iona, Loyola Marymount
1981: Oregon State
1982: Oregon State, Memphis
1983: Memphis
1984: Memphis
1985: Memphis*, Georgia
1986: Memphis, DePaul
1987: DePaul, Florida, NC State, Alabama, Marshall
1988: DePaul, Florida, NC State, Kentucky, Maryland
1989: DePaul
1990: Clemson
1991: (nobody!)
1992: Michigan**, New Mexico State
1993: Michigan**, New Mexico State
1994: New Mexico State, Missouri, Minnesota
1995: Minnesota, Arizona State
1996: UMass*, UConn, Purdue, Michigan, California, Texas Tech
1997: Minnesota*
1998: Michigan
1999: Ohio State*, UCLA, Arizona
2000: Ohio State
2001: Ohio State
2002: Ohio State, Georgia
2008: Memphis** (pending appeal)

Quite a run there between 1980 and 2002. Looks like they decided to put a stop to the policy after the Big Ten got hit 11 years in a row. The UMass year holds the record for the most vacated appearances in a single tournament, but you'll only ever hear about one.
