Seems to me like that's exactly what he's doing. Not sure what you don't get.
Jim, reread my post. Dismiss Bishop from team. Unless you have read something I havent, I have not seen that Mick has done that. My point, again, is if Bishop has done something so bad and his attitude has been such a detriment to the team, then what are you gaining by punishing him for several games if you just bring him back next year to ruin it all again?
Maybe he is going to do that. But we dont know for sure yet, and I have to give the benefit of the doubt to him coming back since Mick hasnt announced the other yet.
Last year Mike Williams and his attitude was blamed for the late season collapse. Mick felt it was best he move on and skip his last season. So if Bishop is in same boat as far as a bad apple, just be firm and decisive and do it. Why let him hang in wind. Cut him and let the guys you are recruiting know THERE IS an open scholarship.
I'm just saying that since he indeed got rid of Williams and Mitchell, and all signs point to him showing Bishop the door, why don't you wait until he announces Bishops status before you complain about how he handles it?

IF he boots Bishop, I hope we get a legitimate reason as to why. Grades? Attitude? Negative influence?
Surprises me he's been canned for the rest of the season.

So it went from just being what you think because you just sit at home and don't go to practice to then being "info from a reliable source"?
BTW, when you blame any problems the team has had on the coaches height, your post loses any shred of credibility it may have had.

Sorry you are having a bad day.

You go into the witness protection program over on Bearcatnews with the les miserables for half a year and then show up to whine when it best fits your purpose. When you do show up, you vanish again after victories. When it comes to why you comment, we get it already. No explanation needed.

I'm just telling you what I heard. I won't compromise my source.
I said I'm not there at practice (and none of you are either). If someone comes to you with info and you aren't in a position to corroborate, it may eventually become your opinion as well.

Sub, my clean house was sarcasm. I'd sit Yancey down and say son, if you don't want to work we don't want you here. Your call.

What I heard was that Rashad got an attitude and mouthed off to Mick and then skipped a team meeting the next day.
Pretty reliable source, but you can never be sure.

Bishop is fundamentally the best player on UC's team. He rebounds out of position, he brings the ball up the floor, he's improved his offensive game, he guards the other teams scorer. IMO, there is nothing he has done wrong on the floor. He won't ever be the star, but teams need solid players like Rashad, who don't put up big stats.
I think he's tried to thumb his nose at Mick, and his lack of Coaching skills, team control, and well, shrimpy size. IMO, this
is partly on Mick for his style of running a team. You might pin this on a immature Bishop, but I'm willing to bet others on the team have an equal amount of contempt for Coach Cronin, and Rashad just puts it out front more.
Oh, so he doesn't have a bad attitude, he's just protesting Cronin's lack of coaching skills and team control by skipping meetings? Sounds like a real martyr to me.
Dead weight is dead weight.

Yancy needs someone to follow on the court, another player that will push him. He hasn't had that the last couple of years with Vaughn being the team leader by default. I think he will next year with Lance taking ownership of the team.

Well if that is what he did, he should be given a twenty dollar bill and a bus ticket.
I think you should tell your source. "Who has control now beeyotch."

I do find it ironic that these guys, who still resent Huggs getting the axe, would sooner take the side of the player who mouthed off to the coach Disciplining players... isn't that what we've wanted to see from MC?

Exactly. The same fans that criticize MC for not controlling the team somehow see him disciplining Bishop as proof that the players don't respect him. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

LOL @ the people on this thread trying to make excuses as to why Bishop should be kept on the team.
You guys clearly dont have a clue what has gone on with him not only this season, but in past seasons. UC is a much better team on and off the court without him on it. If anything Mick has been extremely lax with Bishop up until now. I'm glad he's FINALLY taking a stand with this guy.

Can you give us an idea what has gone on with him. Whatever it was it never seemed to effect the minutes he played. From an outsiders perspective this took me by surprise as MC never really indicated thru playing time or comments that there was an issue with Bishop.

It is an attitude problem for the most part.
