I guess we should not be too surprised about this.

it was inevitable. i doubt he'll win or that we'll settle with him, but we'll see.

a sad ending for the founder of our football program.

USF may throw him some bucks to get rid of him though, and that's the entire purpose behind this...

It will end up that way for both Leavitt and Leach. There will be a settlement of some sort for both just to have the whole ugly sitiuation go away at both USF and TT. The longer it is in the paper and the court system the uglier it is for both sides and more and more stuff that was swept under the carpet or ignored for the sake of winning and money surfaces for the publc to see. Both sides at each school will settle before either case ever sees the inside of a court room. As for now each side is posturing for how much they can get and how little they can pay out at this point in both the TT and USF cases.

I know we may, but i REALLY hope we don't. To me, a "fired with cause" situation should be black and white. We either fired him with cause or we didn't. If we didn't, we should pay him the full $7m, issue an apology, name an athletic field after him, and the AD who fired him should be forced to resign.

But if we did, we shouldn't give him a single freaking cent even if it means $1m in lawyer bills and trials over the next 3 years.

I'll really be disappointed if 3 months from now some meely-mouthed settlement is reached, filled with gag orders, etc.

I agree. But something tells me that he will get some kind of dough out of this.

Leavitt will get some dough out of this. I don't think USF wants it to go to court, displaying everything that goes on within the program. They'll pay to keep the spotlight out of the locker room and other places...
