Dream Matchups
Most of the people I speak with in this area like and respect Belmont basketball. They will go to an occasional game. But, most of the people in the area need a little more spark to become ardent followers.

I would like to see us work out a home and home series with a team out of a major conference. A dream matchup would be with a team that we match up well with them. I looked at the RPIs for teams that would make a competitive game and listed them below. There are some interesting teams that are in the same relative rankings as #136 Belmont.

#135 UCLA – They would never come to Belmont, but what a draw that would be. And I don’t suspect they stay this low for long.

#127 Michigan – There are quite a few Michigan fans in the area due to the amount of auto industry in middle Tennessee.

#126 Virginia – An ACC school would normally be a good draw.

#145 Nebraska – A Big 12 school would make a good draw.

#148 Auburn – An SEC school with a lot of fans locally.

#154 Arkansas – An SEC school would make a good draw and a lot of Vandy fans would drop by and root for the good guys.

#192 Penn St. – A Big 10 school would make a good draw along with #205 Iowa and #215 Indiana

RE: Dream Matchups
I thought we had a few good match ups a few years ago when we played at Alabama and Cincinnati, but I'm still waiting for a shot at Vandy!

I liked those too, but I would like to have a home and home with someone so we can get the attendance boost.

Vandy came over and played the first game at the Curb as a favor as Byrd and Stallings are good friends. I heard that because they are such good friends, they won't be playing anytime soon.

UT would be the most likely successful draw but Pearl already said our gym is too small to hold the throng of UT supporters in the area that would like to come to the game.

Mercer has been able to get Bama, GT and FSU to come to their place. Would love to know what it took to make that happen.
