Women's BEast Championship - UConn-WVU
Connecticut will most likely be playing without PG Caroline Doty. I seriously doubt they'll let her play a night after getting knocked out. Concussions are nothing to ignore, and it takes longer than you think to recover from one. Although how serious the concussion can be also depends on the location of the blow, and what part of the brain is on the other side of the blow, where the concussive force is concentrated. Different parts of the brain control different things. She might be able to play without physical problems. But the banging around that goes on during the game could do worse damage to a part of the brain that controls something not visible upon physical examination...
The NFL requires at least one week off to recover from concussions, although I think that's too short a time period. We know too little about the brain to treat injuries to it like we would an ankle sprain...

WVU led 2-1 earlier. It is a tough game. WVU is playing tough. Geno said WVU is the toughest team UCONN played all year. Game was close earlier. Now UCONN is putting in its usual run.
I got to say after watching how piss poor UCONN men played lately, watching these ladies is totally refreshing. They play great team basketball and amazing defense.
This game is on the Big ESPN while BET game is on ESPNU. This is for those Orange homers who claim no one care about women's game. Apparently plenty of fans in CT and ESPN do care about the game.

UCONN women are unbelievable. (That's an understatement).

WVU's younger players seem a bit overmatched at times. But the Mountaineers are hanging tough...
The best part about this WVU team is that all of 'em will be back next year...

Losing by 19 is hanging tough? Against UCONN you may be right. West Virginia has a nice team. UCONN just plays on a different level than the other teams in college basketball.

It wasn't 19 when I made that comment. It was only 5 points at that point. It's been all downhill since...

Now 60-30. The UCONN women's program reminds me of the UCLA men's program in the 60's.

West Virginia had a successful Big East tournament, and should do very well in the NCAA.

RE: Women's BEast Championship - UConn-WVU
Congrats on a great season WVU. People forget WVU is ranked #8 in the country. Losing by 28 is tough to swallow, but UCONN has done this to many top 10 teams. This UCONN women team is just incredible. I love how they play team basketball. Calhoun should bring his boys over to Geno and learn a thing or two. Funny during the highlight show they showed UCONN men's highlight and Kara Lawson said that didn't belong on the show after the way UCONN girls have played.
I wonder if this team can break UCLA's 88 game winning record. If they win it all this year, they would be at 78 and they just need to win first 11 games next season.
I am glad I got something to follow during the NCAA tournament.

60-32 against the #8 team in the country is just sick, but it's what we've come to expect from uconn.
if they don't win the national title, well, i just won't believe it.
