Due to a number of violations, the private school in Elizabeth, N.J., has been banned from participating in the state tournament, according to a story in The Star-Ledger.

One of the violations includes out-of-season workouts with college coaches in attendance, with one of those coaches being Kentucky’s John Calipari, based on a story on rivals.com.

A source familiar with the situation confirmed Calipari was indeed at the workout, along with coach Kevin Boyle.

St. Patrick has two of the top players in the country in senior guard Kyrie Irving and junior forward Michael Gilchrist.

The standard procedure when this happens is the offending school has an unfair recruiting advantage and has to stop recruiting the players that were there. Won't happen but that's what usually does.
