Coach Foley was sending a message to MT.
Clark set a new tournament scoring record yesterday with 40 points. As soon as Chas hit 41, he took her out. I think it was just a shot over the bough. We haven't gotten the respect we deserve since we beat the MT ladies by 20 last time. MT will be motivated to make up for that loss, but I think Foley will have us even more motivated to prove it wasn't a fluke. Assuming that MT wins today, it should be a great game tomorrow. The best of the best playing head to head.

Well, great competition breeds great competition. I'm betting her longest shot was about five feet away from the basket. Am I correct?
I never saw a player her size with the ability to make as many layups as she does. I can't figure it out. She must be like "The Shadow", with the power to "cloud women's minds" so she's invisible until the ball goes through the basket. Both these young ladies are amazing. It will be a terrific battle tomorrow. I think the difference will be the surrounding casts. If our girls are able to shoot the three as well as your girls, then it will be anyone's game. So tomorrow finally tells the tale. Who goes and who doesn't (or at least not as the automatic bid).

All Retirees (includes me) need to be at the game tomorrow. The rest of you call in sick and be at the game.

That reminds me of that old saying "The first liar doesn't have a chance".
It's like starting on defense in a football overtime. You always want the other team to go first so you know what you have to do to either win or at least tie them. Tomorrow it won't matter which player scores the most points. It will only matter which team scores the most points.

Alysha actually attempted 4 shots from behind the arc.
But you can't blame Clark for shooting layups when the Western defense was practicing the olé defense. I've never seen post players so inept as what the Hilltoppers trotted out today.

I have to agree. From what I saw of the game WK was fronting Clark and trying to deny her the ball. That lob pass took care of that. You have to defend Clark from behind and make her work for the basket. And then, who knows, maybe the refs will call her for hooking the defender ...
MT is definitely in the NCAA. Unfortunately I believe UALR has to win to get in. Who will wind up with the scoring record?

Where we had a little success defending her in Little Rock, was having a defender behind her, and when she got the block on the block, we dropped a guard down and managed to slap aways a few balls as she attempted to drive to the basket. She still managed to get 24 I think. You can't stop her completely, just hope you can slow her down, and pretty well hold down the rest.
The thing that impresses me more about MT is the ball movement they have. The best I've ever seen by a women's team, and better than most men's teams. Twice on one play today, the guard got the ball into Clark on the block she immediately got the ball to the wing, who hit Clark again on the block as she cut across the lane, Clark immediately bounce passed the ball to the opposite corner, and it immediately came back to Clark who went under the basket, and rolled the ball up for a layup. Clark touched the ball three times within about ten seconds, and finished the layup. I'm glad she's a senior.

Clark gets a lot of touches. Probably why she leads the team in turnovers. She had 7 today and 6 in LR. She was 11-14 from the line today and 4-5 in LR. MT is good.So is UALR.
