The Carolina Panthers have released the long time starting qb per a report on ESPN Sportscenter late last night. It lookls like Matt Moore will be their starting quarterback next year with the Panthers sighning him to a long term contract a week or two ago.

Thank God. Jake had his good moments, but he is more likely to throw 4 interceptions (maybe in the first half) than not.

That needed to happen, but I'm not particularly sold on Matt Moore as an NFL caliber starting quarterback. It sounds like they may be showing some interest in Vick, as well, which makes me pretty sick to my stomach.

Should have happened last year after Jake's blow up cost the Panthers a SB spot.

Yep or even before that.

I'm very glad he's gone. He might be good at times, but he makes so many mistakes.

Here are some moves I like on the first day of free agency for the Chicago Bears, the signing of a good blocking tight end from the country of Samoa, and the signing of former running back from the Minnesota Vikings Chester Taylor. I like the pickup of Carlos Dansby for the Miami Dolphins, and the trade of Antawn Boldin to the Ravens. The Arizona Cardinals have lost some star players in free agency today too.
