Does "Coach of the Year" award make Brady's departure more likely?
Brady certainly led ASU to a nice turnaround, but its not often the coach of the 5 seed wins Coach of the Year. However, I think it does make him more marketable for a BCS job. A coach who has gone to the Final 4 and now wins Coach of the Year in his second season might sound pretty good to a program like Auburn, Iowa State, etc. I have no idea what Brady's ambitions are, but like some have pointed out its tough to turn down the money the big boys offer these days.

Not this year. With LSU still paying his buyout through next season ASU should be fine holding him through at least the end of the next year. at that point his buyout at LSU ends and we'll have to pony up the dough to keep him

Auburn might be the only realistic team interested and their not in a position to win in the SEC with zero basketball fan support

There are some non-BCS jobs that are better than some BCS jobs.

John Brady is still a relatively young coach, and there's no way he's going to remain in the Sun Belt with what he's accomplished at L.S.U., and the quick turnaround of the ASU program. Of course it's dependent on who has the opening, and when. Timing is most important in everything in life. If there are a number of "big" jobs opening this year, Brady would certainly have to be considered. No disprespect to the Wed Wooves, but like UALR, our programs will be successful when we're a stepping stone for great young coaches, like Western. Hasn't happened at UALR yet. Or ASU. But we keep hoping.04-cheers

I think an AD would have a hard time selling Brady to the fans at this point unless he wins four in a row in Hot Springs.

Why would he need to win anything. He's already proven he can coach at LSU. He took them to the final four and always had competitive teams there. All he needs to do is to turn around a program in a short time, which he has done, win coach of the year honors, get his name out there again, and he should be a lock for a good offer.04-cheers

He got fired at LSU and hasn't knocked it out of the park at a lower tier.

{Probably the key was he was picked to finish sixth in our side of the Bracket.

He might be gone, but I don't think in his case that the COY will make any difference, because he was already a household name.

But it gets his name out front once again, and people have short memories, so this puts him in the forefront instead of on the back burner.04-cheers
