Congrats to Ian Clark who was named FOY and 2nd team All Asun. I feel for Markeith who is a great freshman and is equally deserving of the award.

This is exciting news! I'm so glad Ian got FOY. He really deserved it. I can't wait to see what he will do in the coming years.

Congrats indeed! Well done Mr. Clark. There were several very good Freshman this year. I would not have been surprised if he didn't win it, nor am I surprised he did win it. He's also the first Belmont player to make all Conference as a Fresh.

The future doesn't look half bad. 03-wink

Looking at the stats I have been thinking that Cummings was likely FOY. However, after seeing them go head-to-head I definitely think Clark was deserving. Ian is far more efficient that Cummings, who seems to be more of a "volume scorer". Luckily, we were ahead by so much he could put up a really nice 22 minutes and let Cummings score some when it didn't matter. I didn't expect him to win it, but I am glad he did.

Hell yeah. He totally deserved it in my opinion. In my time following Belmont basketball, I haven't seen a player more deserving.

A close second would be Cummings.

I agree, I knew it would be a tight race between the two.

And if ETSU had a competent coach Cooley would of cracked the top 5.

Y'all are going to be good next year. Pretty much everyone comes back right, including Mike Smith?

Also (speaking of Mike Smith and to eat some crow), early last year or late the previous year (prior to Jordan Campbell's season-ending injury) I made the claim that he was a complete player and maybe just a notch below Mike Smith. Campbell hasn't come back close to that kind of form, and he isn't in Smith's league right now. I maintain that he has the potential as he can rebound, defend, shoot, and pass, but he needs to get that mental edge that Smith has. If he comes back, you all are going to be really tough next year.

I'm not sold Bruin. We need a traditional ETSU style point guard to make things happen. I've never seen so much standing around in all my life. We also need to recruit some athletic size. We're relying on a couple white kids as backups who move at about the speed of my dead grandmother.

It's possible ETSU could be good...It's possible they won't.

EDIT

We also need a coach.

Gold, it seems to me that your biggest enemy in getting a new coach is mediocrity. As long as the ETSU finishes a little over .500, there is no real pressure to get a coach that can take you to the next level. Just being competitive is good enough with your administration. I hate it for you guys.

What really needs to happen, long term, is for the wheels to fall off for one season, to point out that Bartow can only take ETSU so far.

02 The mediocrity goes deeper than you know....in order for things to change we have to completely clean house. Not only does Bartow have to go...but we need a new president and a new AD. And we need them yesterday.
