Oj mayo is not a point guard, period.

The grizz still need to make an upgrade at point guard. I've been waiting for a while for it now. I've always said mike conley is an okay point guard, but his inconsistency is still his problem.

O.J. Mayo has been a point guard or had the offense run through him since he started playing basketball up until last year. He is most certainly a point guard.

O.J. Mayo is not a point guard, but it would be nice if he could learn the job.

Does not for most of any game O.J. Mayo plays off the ball and Mike Conley plays on the ball, therefore Mayo is a shooting guard for the Memphis Grizzlies. The only way the Mayo would do this is that the guard Sam Young is hurt and Conley is in foul trouble. Even if he would be better than Conley as the Grizz point guard, they still do not have a true point guard without the A.I. debacle and Conley's inconsistency.

Mr. Heisley????

I'm kidding. He can't handle the ball good enough to be a point guard full time. He can slide into the position here and there. But if he's our point guard full time, we are in trouble. How oj can help the grizz is to keep scoring the ball and play better defense.

I think OJ could play pg. But, he won't. He wants to stand outside and shoot jumpers.

RE: Memphis Grizz vs Portland Trailblazers
We definitely need an upgrade in the PG spot, that is our glaring weakness I believe...maybe draft a guy like Sheron Collins? I know the playoffs are a big stretch this year now, but the Grizzlies have certainly had a great year regardless. I was hoping we could win 30 this year and we have already done that...I just hope they keep playing hard and continue to develop as a team and hopefully next year we will be in the playoffs, with a hopeful upgrade at the PG position.

Look at it this way, if the Grizzlies don't make the playoffs they'll have a lottery pick. The odds of it being a top three pick are rather small, so more likely they'll be picking in the 12-14 range. If they could package their other picks (or throw in a player), it's possible they could move up in the draft and get a really good player who can fill a gap for them.

Good point. What I am getting from the morale is:

best case scenario: playoffs

worst case scenario: 12-14 range draft pick (along with 2 other first round picks)

best case scenario should we not make the playoffs: trade a package deal for a better pick.
