My brother in law is graduate of the University
of Minnesota Dental school, and has been a big gopher fan for 50 years. He asked me the other day if I had heard of a player named Paul Carter from Little Rock, who is playing for Minnesota.

I thought he was misinformed because I'd never heard the name, and thought that any player who signed with a Big 10 team out of Little Rock would have some element of familiarity to me.

So I checked this morning in the DG, and sure enough he's from Little Rock Mills and is averaging around 6 points a game for the Gophers. Had anyone else ever heard of this kid? I don't know if he signed with them as a freshman or a Juco. I'll try and look him up on the Minnesota website and see what the deal is on him. Another obviously decent player right under our noses who we either didn't recruit or weren't able to sign.03-banghead

Checked him out. Raised in California, Moved to New Orleans his Junior season, and then as a result of Hurricane Katrina, moved to Little Rock and played his senior season at Little Rock Mills. A 6'8" 195 lb. lefty who played a couple of years of Juco ball. Father is a former NBA player who still lives in California. Mother lives in Arkansas. Don't feel so bad since he was just here for a short time and already had interest from BCS schools prior to arriving here. I'm sure we knew about him, but he probably had no interest in us.04-cheers
