Pitt is 21-7, they split 2 non-conference games during the past week. They won at Akron and lost at Kent State.

Rutgers took 2 of 3 from Notre Dame to reach 17-13 (7-2) on the season. Not bad after a 1-9 start, not bad at all.

Congrats to Pitt for taking the series. 04-bow

Bad week for UofL as we lost 3 out of 4 games, but no time to panic yet; that's just the nature of baseball.

Since Coach Dan McDonnell has been here, we usually don't put things together until late April and May, so this year has been different in that we've started well.

We are still waiting to get our complete team back from injuries, we need to be road-tested some more, and I still think we have enough talent across the board to be one of the best teams in the country. But this week really hurt us in our quest for a National seed; we didn't have much margin for error.

Also congrats to USF for their fine start in Big East play.

Well, I made this comment in late February, and now Louisville got the awesome National Seed; we will be tough at home.

However, looking back from then and now, I have some concerns about being able to go all the way. Our pitching depth didn't quite develop like I had hoped, and defense has been shaky at times.

Our hitting lineup is what looks great on paper; we may have to slugfest our way through this.
