Ladies-Denver game
Trojans down 32-31 at the half. The way Phil talks, the Trojans evidently aren't playing very good defense, and have given up several easy baskets on defense. Chastity has 12 points I believe, but she's missed a ton of shots. Last I heard she was only hitting about 33%.
I just heard Phil say that Denver is hitting 75% from the field. I'd say that figure pretty well says we aren't playing much defense. They've hit 6 points at the free throw line. We've shot 0. We had 7 fouls and Denver only 2. They're out rebounding us 14-10.
Gonna have to pick it up or we lose. I imagine Foley is chewing some butts about the piss poor defense.

Somehow I knew that this would happen to UALR this late in the season. The last 3 years at this time, the Trojans played like they didn't care about winning for coach Foley...just going through the motions. The true contenders such as WKU and Middle Tennessee both play with passion and a sense of urgency the last 2 weeks, both coming out on top tonight. As bad a defense as we've been playing lately, I'm afraid that it'll be one and done come tournament time for Foley's Bunch.

I don't see it that way Curtis. I never have thought that our girls under Foley, haven't always played hard. I don't have any doubt that we're one of the two best teams in the league. We haven't been as sharpe the last few games, and Chastity hasn't been shooting well, but I believe it should be between us and Middle again this year.
As far as this game, our defense as picked it up a lot this half, and Denver went through a four minutes dry spell at the opening of the second half, and another three minute spell just a few minute ago. The only problem is, we haven't taken advantage of it, and we went through the same three minute dry spell as Denver did at the same time.

The ladies are now the hunted they will get the best from every team they play. One good thing is because their good D which is ranked high in nation they can win on the road and when they are not playing good on offense.

I was a little worried about this game but now I believe the gals should win out giving them a winning streak of 19, hopefully more in the tournament. I believe the Trojans are an intelligent team, they know how to adjust, and you can count on it, Coach Foley will never be out-coached.

Two or Three times out of the past 4 years or so, we've lost one in the last week. It's very tough to go through any league undefeated or just one loss.
We even lost one where we beat another team by 30+ at home.
Congrats on the Denver win and the #1 Seed. You have certainly earned it.
And looks like we'll have WKU on our side of the bracket in Hot Springs.
Hoping we both get to the SBC Tourney Championship Game, with the loser getting an at-large to the Big Dance. ESPN's Charlie Creme has us left out at this time.
